Natera is currently seeking a Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. Natera’s mission is to change the management of disease worldwide by using information gained from a simple blood draw to detect disease early and proactively inform treatment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in algorithm development, genomics, sequencing data processing, and applied machine learning.  RESPONSIBILITIES: <ul> <li> Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection </li> <li> Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence </li> <li> Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems </li> <li> Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control </li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS:  <ul> <li> PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a strong emphasis on cancer epi/genomics </li> <li> Extensive hands-on experience in sequencing assays and pipeline development </li> <li> Proven track-record of developing state-of-the-art computational methods for high throughput sequencing data processing </li> <li> Strong foundation in quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis and applied machine learning </li> <li> Strong computational and programming skills, with hands-on experience with Python and its scientific library stack (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) </li> <li> Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts </li> <li> Ability to perform hypothesis driven research, visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form </li> <li> High scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology </li> </ul><div><div><div>The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years &amp; depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
