<div>Working within the Software Development team your role is to help co-ordinate the</div><div>embedded software development team and contribute to the development activities.</div><div>The Embedded Software Team Lead position is a split role with both Management and</div><div>Engineering duties. It is expected that you maintain your engineering skills as they are an</div><div>important part of the profile and are key to being an effective technical manager.</div><div> </div><div>As part of a team of embedded software developers you will be involved with a</div><div>variety of projects that use microcontroller, DSP and embedded Linux technologies. It is</div><div>expected that you will have proven skills in one or more areas and will be able to actively</div><div>contribute to the code base.</div><div> </div><div>In the early stages of a project, you will collaborate with the Project Management and</div><div>Engineering Management teams to distil technical specifications into detailed software</div><div>tasks.</div><div> </div><div>During the development phase, you will manage the team, promoting a collaborative</div><div>work culture and ensuring that requirements are met throughout   the</div><div>development lifecycle. You will report with status updates to management and project</div><div>leadership teams, using tools such as Jira and Confluence.</div><div> </div><div>A major part of the job requires the ability to multi-task and switch from engineering</div><div>problem solving to a macroscopic view of the complete system and the projects timelines.</div><div>You will work alongside engineers to resolve technical issues, validate prototypes, prepare</div><div>for demos, and perform systems integration. At the same time, you will act as the point of</div><div>contact for embedded software for other departments and are expected to support the</div><div>wider business.</div><div> </div><div>The position of Embedded Software Team Lead may also include line-management of</div><div>engineers. </div><div> </div><div>As Embedded Software Team Lead, you will dedicate time to continuous improvement of</div><div>our software development processes ( continuous integration, automated testing, and staff</div><div>onboarding).
