Mudflap serves the $800B trucking industry, the backbone of the U.S. economy. Our market-leading payment products help truckers save thousands of dollars on fuel (their #1 business expense), while providing our fuel stop partners with access to new, hard-to-reach customers. We’re a fast-growing marketplace business looking for a new customer-obsessed teammate to join us on this exciting journey.
We’re looking for an Account Manager to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you’ll help grow Mudflap’s merchant network by signing up new SMB partners and expanding existing relationships. Youll work closely with fuel merchants to add new locations, negotiate pricing, and represent Mudflap at industry events and in-person meetings.
This is a high-impact, early-career role ideal for someone with a commercial background who enjoys relationship-building, negotiating, and supporting business growth — without the traditional account executive path.
Expectations (In this role, you will):
- Sign up new fuel merchants and help existing partners expand their footprint on Mudflap
- Negotiate fuel discounts and pricing terms with new and current merchants
- Conduct outbound calls to engage prospective partners
- Lead in-person sales meetings with merchant stakeholders
- Attend and represent Mudflap at key industry conferences and events
Experience (What we look for):
- 2–3 years of experience in commercial or customer-facing roles (e.g., Renewal Manager, Account Manager, Territory Manager)
- Proven track record of closing new or expansion business, especially in high-trust or multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable leading in-person conversations and navigating decision-making dynamics
- Based in Austin, TX — this is an in-office and field-facing role
- Interest in growing within sales or partner success, but not on a traditional AE track
Work Location & Hybrid Policy:
This role involves a hybrid work approach, balancing in-office collaboration with the ability to work remotely.
To support our team, we offer:
✔ Commuter benefits to ease your travel
✔ Lunches and snacks to keep you fueled
✔ A collaborative, high-growth environment where you’ll work closely with top talent
Perks and Benefits (What we offer):
- Competitive salary and multiple benefit options
- Responsible Time Off
- 401(k) matching
- Opportunities and support for major career growth
- Annual company offsite event (Mudfest!)
The salary range for this role is $65,500 - $77,000. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. The candidates skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation. This position may also be eligible for additional incentives such as equity awards or short-term incentives. Our benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, and flexible PTO.
