Along with thousands of volunteer contributors and collaborators all over the world, Mozillians design, build and distribute software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms.  About this team and role: The New Products group is building a suite of content creation and productivity tools to help solopreneurs, freelances and  small and medium businesses (SMBs) grow their customer base and work more efficiently.  As a Front-End Engineer on our small and awesome team, you will have a seat at the table for all conversations on product vision and strategy. You will play a key role in shaping and building a new product from early prototyping, to MVPs, to finding product market fit. You are inventive, creative, and know just how far to plan ahead for a project that operates more like a startup than an established software product. You will have wide latitude to operate independently with your teammates. We are looking for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial setting, is comfortable working in a small team, has a track record of delivering, and can navigate the unique challenges of building 0 to 1 products. What you’ll do:  <ul> <li>Lead technical front-end development of a new product line, from prototype up to business-critical high traffic products</li> <li>Develop and implement front-end for generative AI applications</li> <li>Prototype and develop early stage products with a keen eye for user experience </li> <li>Work cross-functionally with other engineers, design and product management </li> <li>Write maintainable code with tests (unit/integration/e2e) and crisp docs; partner closely with product/design/back‑end; join customer sessions to translate insights into UX.</li> <li>Participate in code/design/architecture reviews and project retrospectives; clearly communicate view points and share learnings across the team.</li> <li>Keep pace with new AI tools for software development, such as AI copilots</li> <li>Instrument the product: analytics events/funnels, error &amp; latency monitoring, feature flags/experiments; use data to iterate weekly.</li> <li>Design human‑in‑the‑loop interactions: inline edits, split/merge transactions, bulk approve/undo, keyboard shortcuts, optimistic UI, and audit trails.</li> </ul> What you’ll bring:  <ul> <li>4+ years building production web apps; strong JavaScript/TypeScript and DOM fundamentals</li> <li>Practical experience with Hotwire/Turbo + Stimulus (or adjacent expertise and willingness to ramp fast).</li> <li>Experience using CSS Frameworks and component libraries (currently we are using Tailwind and Flowbite)); strong eye for interaction design and visual polish.</li> <li>Comfortable with OAuth flows and integrating REST/JSON APIs; solid grasp of async states, streaming updates, and form UX.</li> <li>Performance and accessibility mindset: Core Web Vitals, a11y (ARIA, focus management), responsive design.</li> <li>Testing discipline: you write tests that make refactors safer and delivery faster.</li> <li>Fluency  using Github</li> <li>Commitment to our values:</li> <ul> <li>Welcoming differences</li> <li>Being relationship-minded</li> <li>Practicing responsible participation</li> <li>Having grit</li> </ul> <li>You don’t need every bullet.
