We are actively seeking an exceptional Mapping and Localization Software Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge systems and software for our current and future autonomous driving efforts. As a member of the Localization, Mapping and Calibration (LMC) organization, you will play a critical role in architecting and developing next-generation mapping and localization solutions. What Youll Be Doing <ul> <li>Solve complex challenges associated with large-scale mapping and localization by applying state-of-the-art methods and techniques.</li> <li>Drive innovation and deliver impactful solutions by applying state-of-the-art methods and techniques to scale production maps.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Develop and deploy scalable and efficient onboard and offboard software.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Collaborate with experts across autonomy, including perception, motion planning and controls.</li> <li>Prioritize safety above all else in designing and implementing software solutions, ensuring the highest standards of safety in our autonomous driving efforts.</li> </ul> What Were Looking For <ul> <li>Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.</li> <li>2+ years of experience shipping production software in mapping and localization. </li> <li>Strong C++ software engineering and algorithm skills in a Unix environment.</li> <li>Deep understanding of SLAM, particularly state-of-the-art visual and visual-inertial SLAM.</li> <li>Strong fundamentals in nonlinear optimization and numerical linear algebra.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn. </li> <li>Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple teams, researchers and engineers.</li> </ul>   Bonus Points (not required) <ul> <li>Experience applying machine learning techniques to SLAM problems.</li> </ul>  <div><div><div>The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs.
