Hours will roughly be 15-20 hours per week, Monday-Friday. </span></b></i></div><div><br /></div><div><b><span>OVERVIEW</span></b></div><div><span>Youll serve as the copyeditor and fact-checker for some of Morning Brew’s consumer publications </span><span>which cover business, markets, and tech</span><span>. In this role, you’ll read and review newsletter items, interviews, and reported stories for errors and other considerations. Being a team player and getting along with peers is essential. </span></div><div><br /></div><div><b><span>HERES WHAT YOULL BE FOCUSED ON</span></b></div><div><span>- Making sure stories adhere to Morning Brew’s style guide and overall tone</span></div><div><span>- Proofreading text and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors for Brew Markets</span></div><div><span>- Verifying factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics</span></div><div><span>- Fact-checking original reporting and stories, with experience working with editors and reporters to ensure that stories are as accurate as possible</span></div><div><span>- Ensuring stories are logically structured</span></div><div><span>- Working with the managing editor to publish newsletters</span></div><div><br /></div><div><b><span>QUALIFICATIONS</span></b></div><div><span>- Ideally, two years of experience copy editing and/or fact checking at a news or media publication—but if you dont have quite that experience, wed still like to hear from you!</span></div><div><span>- Experience working with reporters and editors, preferably in financial journalism</span></div><div><span>- A sharp eye for detail, the ability to catch every spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistake</span></div><div><span>- Ability to manage multiple projects on a tight deadline</span></div><div><span>- Fluency with online publishing and organizational tools</span></div><div><span>- Strong written communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team</span></div><div><br /></div><div><b><span>COMPENSATION</span></b><span> $40-45/hr commensurate with experience.</span></div>
