To support this growth, were building a specialized AI engineering practice that works hand-in-hand with our most strategic customers, helping them rapidly prototype, refine, and deploy scalable AI systems that leverage MongoDB Atlas.<strong> </strong>Were looking for customer-oriented AI engineers to collaboratively build impactful, iterative solutions leveraging MongoDB’s data platform and cutting-edge generative AI technologies.</p> <h3>In this role, you will:</h3> <ul> <li>Embed deeply with strategic customers, gaining a thorough understanding of their business strategy, challenges and technical requirements within the context of AI</li> <li>Architect, design, and implement end-to-end AI solutions using an iterative, experiment-driven approach</li> <li>Scope projects, define deliverables, and create actionable plans for both rapid prototypes and enterprise-scale deployments</li> <li>Hands-on develop scalable, secure, and performant AI solutions, working side-by-side with customer engineering teams</li> <li>Prototype and iterate solutions leveraging MongoDB Atlas, cloud technologies, LLMs, and generative AI technologies</li> <li>Provide technical leadership to ensure architectural alignment, quality, and successful customer outcomes</li> <li>Actively engage with emerging AI technologies to stay ahead of trends, incorporating new insights into customer solutions</li> <li>Collaborate closely with our Sales teams, Solution Architects, Product, and wider Professional Services to deliver high-impact, scalable solutions that drive measurable business outcomes</li> <li>Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, creating resources, best practices, and reusable assets that scale the broader AI capability across MongoDB</li> </ul> <h3>You will succeed in this role if you:</h3> <ul> <li>Have 5+ years of experience in software development, customer engineering, solution architecture, or similar roles, including at least 2 years dedicated to designing and implementing AI solutions</li> <li>Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach and excellent communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex technical solutions to diverse audiences</li> <li>Proficiency in building modern, full-stack applications with back end development in Python, Node.js, or Java, and front end development with frameworks like React, Angular or Next.js</li> <li>Understand and have implemented AI solutions like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, and LLMs for real-world, real-time applications</li> <li>Have hands-on experience deploying scalable AI applications on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)</li> <li>Demonstrate deep understanding of modern development practices, including CI/CD, test-driven development, and microservices</li> <li>Demonstrable experience in rapidly evolving, high-uncertainty projects, turning ambiguous problems into clear, measurable solutions</li> <li>Are willing to travel up to 30% to engage directly with strategic customers</li> </ul> <h3>Bonus points if you:</h3> <ul> <li>Hold an advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related fields</li> <li>Experience in R&amp;D within the data science, AI/ML space especially around differing AI domains (agentic, discriminative, perceptual, conversational, reinforcement etc), data processing, optimisation, prompt engineering, model validation, model fine tuning and reranking</li> <li>Have knowledge of AI ethics, governance, and compliance frameworks</li> <li>Are proficient in additional languages such as French, Spanish, Italian, German, or Mandarin</li> </ul> <h3>Why Join Us?</h3> <p>This isn’t just another architecture role—it’s a hands-on opportunity to shape the future of AI-driven business solutions and redefine what’s possible with MongoDB and AI.
