About the Deal Desk Team

The Deal Desk Team plays a critical role in the quote-to-cash process by ensuring deals are structured efficiently and in alignment with company policies. The team serves as an engine driving revenue growth, reducing financial risk, and guiding sales on optimal commercial structuring. Mixpanel’s Deal Desk is currently based out of San Francisco, and sits under the Operational Finance Organization which is spread across San Francisco, Barcelona, India, and London. It is a rapidly growing team, with lots of cross-functional visibility, working closely with Finance, Sales, Legal, Partnerships, and more.

About the Role

We are looking for someone who is able to apply critical thinking and problem-solving to unique contract scenarios and troubleshoot Salesforce CPQ with ease. The Deal Desk analyst should be detail oriented, have experience reviewing SaaS contracts, and are able to interpret non-standard terms and conditions. They are comfortable with ambiguity and adapt to priority changes in a rapid-paced work environment. This person excels at working independently, with minimal direct supervision, as well as collaboratively with their team and across different functions. The Deal Desk Analyst is able to effectively communicate with all relevant stakeholders and navigate decision making under pressure. Their presence on the team contributes to an overall efficiency of the Quote to contract process. This role will report to the Deal Desk Team Lead in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to our Global Sales team, offering insights on optimal deal structures and strategies to ensure effecient quote to cash operations.
  • Review and approve CPQ quotes to ensure they align with company policies and objectives, closely scrutinizing non-standard contract terms, including SLAs, and other customer-specific requests.
  • Assist in drafting commercial language on order forms to reflect negotiated terms accurately and route DocuSigns for final execution.
  • Escalate and manage deal risks, approvals, and provide recommendations for non-standard terms and pricing. Identify potential risks in deal proposals and suggest mitigating strategies.
  • Review and approve post-sales contractual changes, including amendments, restructures, and re-bills, ensuring timely and accurate processing to meet customer needs and business requirements.
  • Serve as an expert on our Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) system, troubleshoot bugs independently and ensure CPQ processes are efficient and user-friendly.
  • Conduct training sessions for AEs on CPQ usage, best practices, and deal basics. Develop enablement materials to support the sales team’s ongoing education.
  • Manage and execute transaction processing on both the Google and Amazon Marketplace platforms in a timely and accurate manner.

Were Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Enterprise Software/SaaS B2B Industry – Order Management, Finance Operations, Deal Desk or Sales Operations experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, CPQ tools, and other relevant software applications
  • Ability to review and recognize non-standard contract terms, including SLAs, and other customer-specific requests
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, pricing strategies, and revenue recognition principles
  • Ability to get along well with others, work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities and styles simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

 

Compensation

The amount listed below is the total target cash compensation (TTCC) and includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. In addition to the cash compensation provided, this position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTCC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors.
