Job TitleSoftware Engineering Lead, Mobile ApplicationsJob Description<h1></h1>About Your Role:People Inc. is looking for a highly-skilled Engineering Lead with demonstrated technical excellence and leadership capability to support and grow our new brand-focused mobile application. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment, managing and guiding the team that builds and releases this new app, and helping ensure its success and position as a cornerstone of the company’s growth.As an engineering lead and SME on the team, you will help set technical best practices, provide guidance to less-experienced developers, and ensure that the application provides the best possible UX and  experience to our users. You will partner with Product Management as well as other team leads within the department to achieve our overall business goals, as well as contributing directly to the app codebase.Remote or Hybrid 3x a week- NYCIn-office Expectations: This position can either be remote US, or NYC hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.About Your Contributions:<ul><li>Define and realize the technical vision for our mobile application, in alignment with our overall app development strategy, across iOS and Android platforms,</li><li>Work closely with backend engineers to ensure optimal integration between frontend UI and backend APIs.</li><li>Monitor app performance using analytics tools and continuously optimize performance based on user feedback and usage data to improve the overall user experience.</li><li>Work closely with product managers, designers, content creators, and other teams to integrate product vision and feedback, enhance app features, and drive user engagement.</li><li>Lead and mentor your team of developers.</li></ul>About You:You have solid knowledge of and experience with modern mobile app development methods, and recent hands-on experience applying that knowledge. You have managed or mentored developers before, and are looking to continue that growth.<ul><li>Proven experience (5+ years) in designing, developing, and maintaining production-ready mobile applications, with at least 1 year of that time including management experience.</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.</li><li>Strong technical background with expertise in mobile application technologies, especially<ul><li>React Native and similar (e.g., Flutter): Expertise building high-performance, cross-platform mobile applications with a JavaScript/TypeScript core and native platform-specific UI components, including predictable state management patterns using Redux or similar alternatives.</li><li>Native App development: Familiarity with building and managing both Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) true-native applications.</li><li>Firebase and similar mobile application technologies: Experience with Firebase services, including Firestore for scalable NoSQL data storage, Crashlytics for monitoring and resolving app crashes, and Firebase Push Notifications for real-time user engagement and messaging.</li><li>Code signing and release management: Familiarity with managing the end-to-end app release process, including code signing, provisioning profiles, and certificates for both iOS and Android platforms, and CI/CD pipelines. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Incs total compensation package for employees.
