Job TitleRestaurant Editor, Food &amp; WineJob DescriptionAbout The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirementsFood &amp; Wine’s Restaurant Editor identifies the most compelling stories, personalities, and movements in the world of food and restaurant culture and brings them to life with smart and timely reporting and writing for multiple platforms. The restaurant editor also spearheads and project manages our annual Best New Chef franchise, one of the flagship editorial programs of the brand. This role will pitch—and field pitches—for restaurant news and trends that resonate with our online and social audiences, in our front-of-book magazine sections, and within features, identifying important stories, chefs, recipes, ingredients, and tastemakers. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer and editor with a good sense of the national restaurant landscape, is fluent in digital publishing, collaborative, thoughtful, deadline-oriented, and organized with a firm grasp of digital and print production processes. The restaurant editor will pitch, write, and edit stories for the magazine and website and must be proactive in prioritizing daily and weekly tasks while working across departments including editorial, photo, design, food, and social media. A passion for food, cooking, and restaurants combined with an understanding of how to create content that connects with readers across platforms and media is a must.Hybrid 3x a week- New York City In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.About The Positions Contributions:Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results<ul><li>70%:  Content Creation<ul><li>Ideate, pitch, write, and edit articles about food and restaurant culture.</li><li>Participate in daily standups and monthly pitch meetings.</li><li>Pitch, write, commission, and edit stories for F&amp;W.com and F&amp;W Pro</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>25%:  Best New Chefs<ul><li>Project manage this annual platform with support from the team including nomination process, vetting, commissioning, scouting, writing, and editing. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.
