The Direct to Patient Program Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and guiding the strategy and execution of the SH direct to patient campaign, patient advocacy, and patient education initiatives. This role will lead a team dedicated to enhancing patient experience, driving patient access, and advancing our women’s heart health leadership at Medtronic. The Program Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and measure the impact of the innovative patient programs in SH.

The Direct to Patient Program will have a significant impact on the success of Structural Heart by impacting patient access to our valve technology. The Direct to Patient Program Director is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and guiding the strategy and execution of the SH direct to patient campaign, patient advocacy, and patient education initiatives. This role will lead a team dedicated to enhancing patient experience, driving equitable patient access, and advancing our women’s heart health leadership at Medtronic. The Program Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and measure the impact of the innovative patient programs in SH.

This role within Structural Heart Market Development team, will be both a strategic and programmatic execution role supporting our patient initiatives across the world.

The work location is flexible, and candidates should be prepared to travel up to 25-30% of the time.

 

A Day in the Life:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Develop and lead the strategic vision or our patient strategy – this will include the scaling of our Evolut direct-to-patient campaign, growing our understanding of the patient journey, tailoring our marketing efforts to address key points in the journey from awareness to treatment, and enhancing patient advocacy efforts.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the patient team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Program Oversight: Oversee the design, implementation, performance measurement, and scaling of omni-channel patient programs, ensuring they meet the needs of patients and achieve increased patient access. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, patients, societies, advocacy groups, vendors, and marketing and field teams, to integrate patient insights into business strategies.
  • Performance Measurement: Establish metrics and KPIs to evaluate program effectiveness and drive data-driven decision-making for scaling our direct to patient efforts.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our direct to patient and patient advocacy work.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all patient engagement activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or a related med tech field.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, patient engagement, or healthcare 8 years, of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Strong marketing background with a proven track record of developing and executing successful patient engagement or digital marketing programs.

Nice to Have:

  • Direct to patient campaign experience preferred
  • Advanced degree in Business, healthcare, or related field.
  • Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder buy-in skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and project management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require travel to attend industry conferences or collaborate with stakeholders, societies, or patient advocacy groups.
  • Hybrid work environment; remote is possible

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$186,400.00 - $279,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
