The ideal candidate is a natural leader, a skilled communicator, and a trusted partner to stakeholders at all levels. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Lead all phases of project delivery—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring successful outcomes across multiple simultaneous initiatives.</li><li>Develop and manage robust project plans that reflect a deep understanding of scope, dependencies, risks, resources, and stakeholder expectations.</li><li>Proactively monitor and control project performance, identifying risks early and implementing mitigation strategies with confidence and transparency.</li><li>Serve as the central point of accountability for project success, maintaining full visibility into status, challenges, and progress.</li><li>Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, aligning project goals with business strategy and negotiating realistic expectations.</li><li>Integrate vendor deliverables seamlessly into project plans, ensuring quality and timeliness.</li><li>Uphold McKesson’s project management standards and methodologies, driving consistency and excellence across all engagements.</li><li>Deliver clear, concise, and impactful status updates to leadership and stakeholders, demonstrating ownership and strategic insight.</li></ul> Minimum Requirements<ul><li>8+ years of progressive experience in project management.</li><li>5+ years of experience leading software implementation projects.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.</li><li>Proven ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments.</li><li>Willingness and ability to travel up to 60%; must reside near a major airport.</li></ul> Critical Skills<ul><li>Exceptional communication skills with the confidence to lead conversations, influence outcomes, and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proactive mindset and a bias for action.</li><li>Ability to navigate internal challenges with poise, leveraging relationships to drive progress.</li><li>Comfortable making decisions and taking initiative, even in ambiguous situations.</li><li>Willingness to mentor and elevate others, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.</li><li>Familiarity with project management frameworks such as CMMI, PMBOK, and Six Sigma.</li><li>Understanding of PHI &amp; PCI data handling requirements and software development lifecycles.</li></ul> Additional Knowledge &amp; Skills<ul><li>Familiarity with IT terminology and functional areas.</li><li>Experience with documentation best practices, including archiving and version control.</li><li>Strategic mindset with the ability to align project execution with broader business goals.</li></ul>We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKessons pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
