The Sr. Data Scientist will support the development of analytic solutions across McKesson. Our team applies data science methodologies to interdisciplinary business problems across Finance, Operations, Accounting, &amp; Supply Chain. This position will work closely with multiple business units such as Treasury, FP&amp;A, Operations, and Pricing. The position’s objectives are: <ul><li>Develop and implement advanced machine learning solutions to support new business initiatives and facilitate next best actions.</li><li>Architect and lead the implementation of driverless forecasting systems, leveraging best data science practices and technologies. </li></ul> The candidate should possess the ability to perform statistical modelling techniques and derive business insights that are required to drive analytic innovation at McKesson. Additionally, the candidate should be an active learner, capable of grasping and applying new analytic approaches, as well as mentoring junior or developing resources. Position Description:The purpose of this position is to architect, implement, drive adoption, and measure impact of innovative analytic solutions at McKesson, as well as make significant improvements to existing solutions. Responsibilities:<ul><li>Develop and implement predictive models to analyze pricing data and forecast trends.</li><li>Apply machine learning algorithms to optimize pricing structures.</li><li>Design and oversee the implementation of model variance analysis and impact tracking frameworks.</li><li>Guide the deployment of statistical models in production.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as sales, marketing, and finance to develop pricing strategies that align with business objectives.</li><li>Prepare detailed reports on pricing analysis and recommendations for senior management.</li><li>Partner with the business to build out a recommendation engine leveraging predictive models.</li></ul>Minimum Requirements:<ul><li>Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in data science / analytics / programming </li></ul> Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as: Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Economics or related quantitative / STEM majors. Master’s and/or PhD a plus.</li></ul>Critical Skills: <ul><li>Demonstrated ability to tackle problems across the full data stack, from data wrangling to stakeholder consumption at scale. </li><li>Deep knowledge of machine learning / data science techniques. </li><li>Knowledge of programming in Python and SQL. </li><li>Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. </li><li>Strong grasp of fundamental statistical concepts: forecasting techniques, reinforcement learning, unsupervised learning, regression, A/B testing, cluster analysis, outlier analysis, probability distributions, tests for independence, etc. </li><li>Experience solving problems at scale leveraging both cloud platforms and relational databases</li></ul> Nice-to-Have Skills:<ul><li>Experience with AI techniques such as natural language processing (NLP), Gen AI, LLMs, computer vision, and reinforcement learning to enhance pricing models and optimize revenue.</li><li>Using mathematical models to optimize pricing a plus</li><li>Experience in developing statistical simulation decision frameworks a plus</li></ul>We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
