This is a full-time position, reporting to the Sr. Regional Finance Director.This role serves as a key finance representative for a significant geographical region of The US Oncology Network, advising senior management and physician partners on the financial activities, issues, and operations of practices throughout the region. The Regional Finance Director combines a significant operational finance component with strategic analysis and effective reporting. This position partners with senior leadership to implement targeted growth strategies in support of achieving the long-range plan. The Director is responsible for the region’s FP&amp;A and controller functions, including the management, preparation, and control of the unit’s budgets and forecasts with the aid of all regional financial operations staff.**Preferred Locations:Houston/DallasChicagoMid-WestKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning &amp; Analysis<ul><li>Lead the monthly reporting/analytics function for regional leadership.</li><li>Work closely with key business leaders to manage forecasting and budgeting processes.</li><li>Partner with practices and management to execute initiatives that improve the financial performance of practices within the region.</li></ul>Physician and Practice Engagement<ul><li>Regularly engage with Physicians and Practice Leadership to communicate financial results and provide strategic financial support.</li><li>Actively participate in Practice Board meetings and collaborate with Physician, Practice, and Operations Leadership to prepare and present financial analysis and materials.</li></ul>Key Performance Indicators<ul><li>Develop methodologies and approaches to ensure key internal performance indicators are incorporated and monitored as the lead for decision support tool development.</li></ul>Capital Expenditures<ul><li>Support the capital expenditure process, including new project analysis and ongoing forecasting of regional capital spend.</li></ul>Financial Management and Oversight<ul><li>Conduct timely, thorough analysis of practice financial results, focusing on indicators such as discounts, expense analysis/control, and related impact and receivables aging.</li><li>Responsible for the approval of practice operating expense spend, financial statement account reconciliations, and internal controls.</li></ul>Business Development<ul><li>Support specific development activities, including local/regional product line analysis, projections related to additional physician recruitment, and ongoing acquisitions.</li></ul>Team Leadership<ul><li>Supervise and coach practice controllers and other financial operations staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development opportunities.</li></ul>Other duties as assigned.Minimum RequirementDegree and typically requires 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience.Critical Skills<ul><li>Must be able to successfully collaborate with key stakeholders across functional areas.</li><li>Digital first mindset that will leverage AI to pursue process improvement.</li><li>Problem solver, persistent, and goal-oriented.</li><li>Self-starting multi-tasker with strong organizational skills.</li><li>Strong analytical/quantitative skills.</li><li>Strong customer service and presentation skills.</li><li>7 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Valuations, Controllership, or similar roles.</li></ul>Additional Knowledge and Skills<ul><li>Ability to manage and lead a geographically spread team.</li><li>Effective communication skills with senior management.</li><li>Proficient in MS Office—Excel, Word, PowerPoint.</li><li>Strong customer-facing skills.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a similar field.</li><li>Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred.</li><li>5 years in Healthcare Services; prior work experience in cancer care and/or hospital administration is advantageous.
