Each team member on the Core Data team has platform-wide responsibilities and collaborates with other team members to provide enterprise level solutions for Marketing, Product, Finance, Accounting, Strategy, and Analytics departments. Furthermore, the Core Data team is responsible not only for all aspects of transforming and delivering raw data into a presentable and actionable format, but they are also well-versed in how key data points affect business decision-making and provide an extra level of insight to our Brand leadership teams. Being part of the MG Core Data team means being at the crossroads of both the business and the technology, and understanding of how both relate to each other is key. </span><b>This position is based in our Vancouver, Canada office. The role follows a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote each week.</b></div><h3>How youll make an impact:</h3><ul><li>Work with our engineering teams to ensure data is flowing accurately from data creation to our presentation layers</li><li>Become an advocate for the Core Data team by developing and championing data best practices including scale, performance, and privacy considerations</li><li>Improve our data technology stack through containerization, data modeling, developing our ETL pipelines, and building scalable/reliable solutions</li><li>Work with stakeholders and translate their needs and expectations into action items and deliverables</li><li>Create high-quality, business-ready data solutions suitable for consumption by non-engineers</li><li>Proactively brainstorm new metrics and data views for business partners to drive critical decision making</li><li>Maintain our data library with core metric definitions, sample data, and access tips</li><li>Conduct training sessions with brand data analysts to ensure they are all equipped to support the data needs at their dating brand</li><li>Communicate regularly with key customers and maintain accurate release notes for changes to our central data platform</li><li>Represent the voice of the internal customers - advocate for changes, resourcing, re-architecture, or other blockers to high-quality, highly-available data</li><li>Support existing on-prem infrastructure and help expand our processes into the cloud (AWS/Databricks)</li></ul><h3>We could be a match if you have:</h3><ul><li>Expertise in SQL, Data Modeling, Lakehouse Architecture, and Python</li><li>Experience with Redshift, Airflow, AWS QuickSight, Databricks, Spark, and relational databases such as SQL Server</li><li>Capability to drive initiatives and articulate their value to engineering and other stakeholders</li><li>Experience delivering data products from conception to delivery</li><li>Great communication skills, both written and verbal</li><li>Experience facilitating workshops with disparate groups to reach common understanding and priorities</li><li>Passionate about designing elegant data solutions and platforms</li><li>5+ years of professional/industry experience</li></ul><div><span>#LI-MG1</span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Why Match Group?</b></div><div><br /></div><div><span>Our mission is simple – to help people find love and happiness!
