Job Description

The Director, Continous Improvement reports to the VP, Premium Operations, and executes the continuous improvement strategy and approach by providing technical and strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. The Director, Continuous Improvement engages with all departments to sustain, improve, and streamline all processes with a primary focus on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Champion of the MasterBrand Business System for the operations, sourcing, logistics and engineering organization within the premium operations.
  • Cultivate the MasterBrand Way culture by utilizing the tools and methodologies of the MasterBrand Business System while driving change.
  • Lead functional teams to analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements
  • Serve as a coach of 6S, Kaizen events, Standard Work, Daily Management, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Maps and related process improvement methodologies through hands-on participation. 
  • Lead Strategy and Business Development leaders to deploy, improve and sustain standard work for key processes.
  • Develop and sustain a funnel of kaizen events that support the strategy and cost improvement targets.
  • Support the development of the strategy, priorities and goals.
  • Understand and apply financial drivers and key performance indicators.
  • Document best practices and shares improvements to leverage results.

Qualifications

  • Preferred minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, Engineering Degree  or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience of increasing responsibility within manufacturing, operations or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to articulate a vision and drive results through influence of indirect reporting relationships.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Training in Lean 80/20 principles, adult education, or a proven track record of plan execution.
  • A team orientation with a proven ability to mentor and develop others.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word.
