This role will be based in New York, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.</p><p></p><p>As a <b>Paralegal</b>, you will support attorneys in the US Legal teams with support around legal tasks and processes. The role requires interaction not only with in-house attorneys but also co-ordination with business units and key stakeholders, including those outside Marsh McLennan.</p><p></p><p><b><u>We will count on you to:</u></b></p><ul><li>Serve as a liaison among the in-house attorney teams, outside counsel, vendors, and other parties involved in litigation, arbitration, and regulatory inquiries</li><li>Review, draft, and manage a wide variety of legal documents under direction of an LCPA attorney to assist in processes including (but not limited to) subpoenas, document retention and collation, regulatory inquiries, external counsel work product.</li><li>Support the LCPA team to prepare presentations, reports, legal analytics and communications</li><li>Collaborate with other members of LCPA teams globally to create, update and maintain template agreements and implement process development.</li><li>Manage access to technology used for Legal &amp; Compliance purposes on SharePoint, Teams and other relevant platforms</li><li>Manage internal reporting processes (tracking and collating information, reminding deadlines).</li><li>Advice colleagues on the correct forms and templates to use and point colleagues toward relevant LCPA resources on rules and procedures.</li><li>Assist with preparing training materials and scheduling training</li><li>Support the wider LCPA team with internal projects and various commercial and compliance matters</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>What you need to have: </u></b></p><ul><li>Diploma or Degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) or other relevant professional qualification desirable</li><li>2 to 3 years of experience preferably with a good mix of legal and compliance work at a law firm or in-house legal department, with exposure to corporate processes</li><li>Strong technical and project management skills</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Experience in Power BI and Power Automate is a plus</li><li>Effectively able to prioritize work by understanding competing demands and making appropriate judgments regarding relative importance</li><li>Able to take initiative, is proactive and confidently able to take ownership of matters and develop self</li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>What makes you stand out:</u></b></p><ul><li>Excellent drafting skills</li><li>Excellent data management, organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to manage expectations well</li><li>Strong commercial acumen with an ability to deliver clear and pragmatic solutions</li><li>Ability to effectively identify risk issues and escalate upwards, as appropriate</li><li>Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and tasks</li></ul><p></p><p>The applicable base salary range for this role is $54,000 to $97,200.</p><p></p><p>The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
