This team is responsible for building and maintaining critical components of the Graykey custom services, with a focus on Linux userspace systems and Python. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux internals, capacity planning, and iterative delivery, and will be passionate about mentoring others and fostering technical excellence and professional growth.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>NOTE: This role is primarily remote, but Candidate must be based out of Atlanta, GA (US HQ).</b></div><h3>Key Responsibilities Role Expectations: </h3><ul><li>Lead and mentor a team of engineers developing and deploying the GKOS solution.</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Cloud, QA, Applogic, and Hardware teams to define and execute the roadmap.</li><li>Partner with the Technical Lead to drive architectural decisions for scalable, reliable, and efficient systems.</li><li>Ensure high-quality, maintainable code through rigorous code reviews, testing practices, and CI/CD pipelines.</li><li>Use data-driven insights to continuously improve team efficiency and delivery.</li><li>Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones.</li><li>Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement through regular retrospectives and action-oriented follow-ups.</li></ul><h3>Required Skills &amp; Experience: </h3><ul><li>Proven ability to mentor, coach, and elevate team performance.</li><li>Experience leading software engineering teams, ideally with Linux internals (userspace bundles and application code).</li><li>Familiarity with network protocols, APIs, and system services relevant to appliance functionality.</li><li>Skilled in giving and receiving constructive feedback.</li><li>Builds trust across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.</li><li>Influences team alignment and delivery throughout the development lifecycle.</li><li>Applies strong situational leadership to adapt and guide effectively.</li><li>Communicates clearly and confidently—both written and verbal.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and organisational precision.</li><li><b>Travel: 5%.</b></li></ul><h3>Nice to Have Skills:</h3><ul><li>Knowledge of security best practices for Linux appliances (hardening, secure boot, patching, updating, CVEs).</li><li>Experience with containers (Docker) in embedded and build systems.</li><li>Strong background in CI/CD for Linux or embedded targets.</li><li>Knowledge of diagnostics, logging, and telemetry in appliance environments.</li><li>Prior experience in cybersecurity, forensics, networking appliances, or IoT devices.</li><li>Exposure to cloud integration and hybrid deployment models.</li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</h3><ul><li>The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.
