The Role

The VP, Forge will be the leader of Mach Industries’ network of decentralized, flexible factories that will rapidly supply the defense ecosystem with critical components. In addition to designing and operating next-generation facilities, The VP, Forge will be responsible for securing company and government partnerships to deploy Forge and its products to their needs. They will effectively collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, software and business development to seamlessly integrate new product and tooling technologies into the Forge ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end site selection, build‑out and commissioning of new Forge locations.

  • Oversee capital planning, vendor contracting, and project timelines to ensure on‑budget, on‑schedule delivery.

  • Establish and continuously improve standardized processes, KPIs, and best practices across all Forge locations.

  • Drive lean manufacturing, throughput optimization, and cost controls to meet financial and quality targets.

  • Partner with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure seamless inbound materials and outbound distribution.

  • Source and manage relationships with contract manufacturers and local service providers.

  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to integrate new technologies into Forge workflows.

  • Align Forge capabilities with customer requirements and roadmap priorities.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing team.

  • Ensure all Forge sites adhere to regulatory, environmental, health & safety standards.

  • Implement robust risk‑mitigation strategies for site operations and supplier engagements.

  • Own the Forge P&L, forecasting performance, and delivering against revenue, margin, and utilization goals.

  • Provide regular operational updates and strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of leadership experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.

  • Demonstrated success in site selection, facility build‑out, and operational launch of new manufacturing locations.

  • Strong grasp of lean/continuous‑improvement methodologies, KPI‑driven management, and cost‑control practices.

  • Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies: 3D printing, injection molding, CNC machining, automation/robotics, IIoT platforms, digital twins.

  • Excellent project management skills, with proven ability to deliver complex, cross‑functional initiatives on time and within budget.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; adept at building partnerships with vendors, local authorities, and internal stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with flexible or modular manufacturing models.

  • Prior P&L ownership and financial acumen in a manufacturing or operations context.

  • Track record of scaling operations across multiple geographies, including remote or emerging‑market sites.

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and training, critical skills, and business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in most offers and are considered part of Mach’s total compensation package.
