Job Description:

Purpose: 

As Lower continues to expand in new markets, new channels of business and retail continue to grow, we are looking for a Closer to join our existing team of superstars. We need team players that have proven closing experience and can bring their existing expertise to help support all things Closing. Attention to detail and strong time management skills are a must to be successful in this role. This position involves both independent and teamwork environments, so a successful candidate should be able to easily transition between each.

What you’ll do:

  • Accurately prepares closing documents using Closing software and ensures the documents represent the terms of loan approval and final underwriting documents.
  • Closers must verify collection of necessary property taxes and/or insurance sufficient to meet our investor’s guidelines, as well as any outstanding invoices necessary to be paid to complete our loan transaction.
  • Verifies accuracy and consistency of specifics on documents, such as title abstract and insurance forms.
  • Ensuring that there are no missing items from closing packages.
  • Answers questions regarding closing requirements specific to loan transaction.
  • Reviews Closing Disclosure (CD) to ensure all fees are accurate including compliance of underwriter’s cash from borrower requirements, etc.
  • Request wire from funding dept. ensuring accurate funds are wired to settlement officer’s account.

Who you are:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Detail oriented and high level of organization
  • Excellent communication whether by phone, email or in person
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with loan industry software
  • 2+ years of Closing experience.
  • Must have knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to mortgage lending.
  • Must have experience with various loan types (i.e., FHLMC, FNMA, FHA, VA or conventional).
  • Encompass experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:

Base pay: $22 - $29.50
