Your Impact
The Sr Field Merchant-Strategic Ops & Disaster Response within our field merchandising team is a key leadership position designed to enhance the planning, execution, and strategic direction of field merchandising initiatives across divisions. This role serves as a vital bridge between various stakeholders, including Field Merchants, Core Merchandising, Store Merchandising, and other SSC partners. A central focus of the position is to strengthen relationships and ensure that field merchandising efforts are aligned with local store needs and organizational goals, driving optimal performance and results across the business. In this role, the Sr Field Merchant-Strategic Ops & Disaster Response will develop a strategic roadmap in collaboration with Field Merchandising leaders and the Merchandising Support team, focusing on driving alignment, improving processes, and ensuring key initiatives are actionable across the organization. The role requires a data-driven mindset, a strong focus on team development, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

What You Will Do
•Lead the collection and analysis of data on local market conditions, sales performance, and competitive intelligence from multiple Field Merchants, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights drive decision-making.
•Ensure accuracy and consistency of data collected from Field Merchants; identifying key trends, insights, and opportunities; and facilitate effective and meaningful communication and collaboration with core and store merchandising partners.
•Conduct comprehensive market analysis to evaluate competitive product offerings across designated locations, ensuring strategic alignment with market trends and customer needs while synthesizing data collected from multiple Field Merchants.
•Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of field merchandising strategies. Formulate and implement action plans to address under performing categories, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
•Represent Field merchandising in proof rooms to bring insights from the field to make impactful and meaningful changes to merchandising initiatives in the planning phase.
•Proactively partner with the consumer insights team to analyze and convey key market trends, collectively driving data-informed decisions that shape and influence both short-term and long-term strategic initiatives.
•Collect and analyze quarterly FLEX and Off-Shelf submissions from each region, diagnosing key insights and trends before consolidating them for reporting to the FLEX team. This ensures informed decision-making and highlights areas for improvement or focus.
•Develop merchandising strategies to address unproductive product sales opportunities across the assigned region, delivering measurable results that align with business goals.
•Work closely with other Senior Field Merchants to gather and analyze data from local merchandising execution teams, developing strategic recommendations that support remerchandising efforts and localized product assortments.
•Take a leadership role on behalf of field merchandising in Product Line Reviews by integrating local product requirements gathered from Field Merchants into discussions with Core Merchandising and Assortment Planning teams, ensuring the availability of the right products in the right locations at the right time to meet customer needs.
•Develop and implement a roadmap of work in partnership with the Sr. Field Merchants and Merch Support team to include building report tools, building streamlined processes that drive action to key stakeholders and drive awareness and alignment of efforts throughout the merchandising organization.
•Work with Merchandising Support team determining Captainships, focus store walk design, other process builds; evaluating enterprise/global synergies and alignment
•Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting merchandising opportunities and actionable recommendations based on insights gathered from the Field Merchants and Regional store leadership.
•Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Regional Vice Presidents and Merchandising Vice Presidents, ensuring alignment of field merchandising efforts with both local store needs and corporate goals.
•Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovative ideas and the sharing of best practices among Field Merchants to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
•Support and guide Field Merchants in addressing emergencies and urgent market needs, ensuring that community requirements are met with efficiency and effectiveness.
•Proactively identify and confront difficult issues, making tough decisions and raising concerns that require solution with key business partners by fostering an environment of open communication.
•Autonomy and thoughtful management of global communications on behalf of field merchandising. Ownership and discretion in managing global communications, ensuring that information is strategically curated and effectively communicated across all regions to align with organizational priorities in partnership with the Business Relations team for execution.
•Develop, implement, and periodically review disaster response plans in partnership with the command center, ensuring that all departments are prepared for storm or natural disaster scenarios. This includes identifying key roles, communication protocols, and emergency procedures. During events, this role will oversee allocation of resources and field merch response approach with the Divisional Field Merchant.

Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelors Degreein  Business or related field and 10+ Years in one or more of the following: purchasing, buying, sales, merchandising, brand management or related field
•8-10 Years Experience in retail product merchandising
•Demonstrated experience working closely with senior leadership
•5-7 Years Experience leading remotely dispersed team and working with cross-functional teams
•Demonstrated Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams

Preferred Skills/Education
•Masters Degree Business or related field
•5-7 Years Experience working with home improvement product categories+R2

Pay Range: $152,300.00 - $254,300.00 annually
