Lightning Labs is looking for a Business Development Strategist who is passionate about bringing bitcoin to the next billion people by expanding Lightnings reach across new companies and industries. This role will be focused on identifying businesses that will help grow the Lightning Network, building relationships with the relevant leaders, and communicating the business value of Lightning to them. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the finance industry, a fintech or payments company, or in a business development role for a high-growth startup, have a strong understanding of the technologies behind bitcoin and Lightning, and have excellent writing skills.Responsibilities: <ul><li>Strategy<ul><li>Collaborate with leadership on business development strategy, from aligning on promising regions and verticals to identifying target companies to tailoring specific value propositions for those companies.</li><li>Understand and clearly communicate how higher level shifts in the global financial market will impact a multi-asset Lightning Network and stablecoin adoption.</li></ul></li><li>Business Development<ul><li>Source new potential customers, from new Lightning-first entrepreneurs to existing bitcoin companies and non-bitcoin companies that want to add Lightning support to their apps.</li><li>Support existing customers by being a point of contact for technical questions or feature requests, and by being able to explain new features and the business-related impacts of upgrading. </li><li>Understand customers’ business goals, and connect them with ecosystem participants that may help them achieve them.</li></ul></li><li>Communications<ul><li>Write compelling, high-quality thought pieces to drive awareness and education around the Lightning Network, Lightning Labs, and its products.</li><li>Support funnel growth activities, such as blog posts, press releases, engagement across social outlets, and community events.</li><li>Build organic awareness and grow engagement across community platforms such as Slack, Telegram, Twitter, etc. </li></ul></li></ul>Location: Global and remote. Proximity to US time zones would be ideal.Requirements:<ul><li>Passion for bitcoin, Lightning, and the mission of bringing financial freedom to the world</li><li>At least 3-5 years of experience in a business development, strategy, financial, or other relevant role</li><li>Attention to detail and strong writing and editing skills</li><li>Creative thinker who can effortlessly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences</li><li>Eagerness to try new things and to be energized by creative challenges</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across time zones</li><li>Fast learner with a strong ability to reach out to new audiences</li></ul>Preferred:<ul><li>Track record of public writings regarding the global financial or payments markets, ideally with an emphasis on bitcoin, Lightning, or stablecoins</li><li>Ability to build relationships particularly with entrepreneurs and developers in emerging markets (LATAM, Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa)</li><li>Familiarity with the Lightning community and a technical understanding of bitcoin and Lightning</li></ul>
