<p>Leidos is seeking a <b>Software Architect</b> to be the technical lead for the Imperium project. This individual will be responsible for driving the design and implementation of a scalable software solution that align with business objectives, customer needs, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cloud technologies, cross-functional collaboration, and enterprise-grade software development across diverse customer environments.</p><p><br />The successful candidate will have a wide range of technical experience including mission software development, secure software practices, software architecture, DevOps, cloud technologies, and software validation. This position requires a technical leader who is ready to both roll up their sleeves to solve hard, interesting problems as well as step back and set a technology vision for delivering a focused, mission-first software product. </p><p></p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Define and maintain the technical architecture vision for a multiple impact level system.</li><li>Work closely with external customers to understand mission objectives, technology constraints, and long-term goals. Translate these into strategic technology roadmap.</li><li>Guide and mentor development teams, ensuring consistency in development practices and alignment with the technical vision.</li><li>Lead the creation and maintenance of multi-year technology roadmaps aligned with business and customer strategies.</li><li>Partner with product owners, engineering leads, and program managers to prioritize capabilities, manage trade-offs, and ensure technical feasibility.</li><li>Design and oversee cloud-native architecture in AWS focused on serverless technologies for scalability and flexibility.</li><li>Define and enforce software engineering standards, architectural review processes, and documentation practices across teams.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Basic Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Master’s degree or Ph.D. and 15 years of experience in a Science, Engineering, or Technology field. Will consider experience in lieu of the degree requirements.</li><li>US Citizenship; Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization from program teams to Business Area leadership.</li><li>Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.</li><li>Proven success managing software strategy across multiple customers or programs.</li><li>Ability to translate design and architecture into tasks for software development tasking.</li><li>Deep experience with AWS cloud platforms and designing scalable, distributed systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.</li><li>Experience working directly with product owners and managing competing priorities across large teams.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Agile Development experience.</li><li>Proven leader across the Software Development Lifecycle.</li><li>Experience implementing solutions for multiple customers.</li><li>Experience in event-driven architectures and serverless cloud services.</li><li>Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect).</li><li>Ability to champion Software standards and best practices.</li></ul><p></p><p>EIO2024</p><p></p><p>Come break things (in a good way).
