<p>Leidos is seeking a <b>Full Stack Software Engineer</b> to support the Catena project. In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable systems using modern technologies. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our front-end and back-end architecture, ensuring seamless deployment within an AWS environment using Serverless frameworks and GitLab CI pipelines.</p><p></p><p>This role is 100% remote but proximity to the Washington Metro Area is preferred.</p><p></p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient front-end and back-end systems using modern programming languages and frameworks.</li><li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.</li><li>Develop and maintain APIs, microservices, and server-side logic using languages like Java, Python, Node.js, or similar.</li><li>Deploy applications to cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and ensure scalability and reliability.</li><li>Implement database solutions, including schema design, queries, and optimization for relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) or non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.</li><li>Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and functionality.</li><li>Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks.</li><li>Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.</li><li>Provide constructive feedback to team members and incorporate feedback into your own work.</li><li>Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.</li><li>Identify and implement solutions to improve system reliability and user experience.</li><li>Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.</li><li>Provide assistance and support for less experienced team members.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Basic Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><b>US Citizenship; Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.</b></li><li>Bachelors degree with 4+ years of experience or a Masters degree with 2+ years of experience as a minimum qualification.</li><li>Experience developing software systems using Java or Python.</li><li>Proficiency in front-end development using React and Typescript.</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.</li><li>Experience developing and deploying software into cloud environments, particularly AWS.</li><li>Demonstrated experience working in a DevOps environment with a CI/CD pipeline.</li><li>Demonstrated experience with serverless frameworks for building scalable applications.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact at multiple levels of the organization from program teams to Sector leadership.</li><li>Expertise in GitLab CI/CD, with experience in creating pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and monitoring.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Knowledge of supply chain logistics platforms and experience building systems that optimize workflows, inventory management, and resource allocation.</li><li>Recent experience within the National Security or Department of Defense with an understanding of those missions and operating environments.</li><li>Experience integrating AI/ML into software development.</li><li>Experience developing software systems in secure environments.</li><li>Scaled Agile Development experience or other formal Agile experience.</li><li>Certifications in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) or Security technologies (CISSP, Security+, etc.).</li><li>Understanding of Leidos technology investments (e.g. IRAD).</li><li>Experience implementing solutions for multiple customers.</li></ul><p></p><p>EIO2024</p><p></p><p>At Leidos, we don’t want someone who fits the mold—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better.
