About the Team:
Our Global Employee Success team is dedicated to delivering high-quality HR services and driving operational excellence around the world. We focus both on the seamless execution of HR processes and on modernizing and improving how we work through innovation and automation.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an HR Manager to join our Global Employee Success team in Japan. You will play a dual role: ensuring top-tier HR operational delivery for our Japan workforce, and continuously improving our ways of working through process documentation, automation, and streamlining. You will also partner closely with our Global Talent Acquisition team to coordinate local recruitment processes. Fluency in English is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver all day-to-day HR operations for Japan, including onboarding, offboarding, employee data management, documentation, and HR administration.
Maintain up-to-date and compliant HR records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
Provide responsive, customer-focused support to employees and managers for HR inquiries and transactions.
Partner with the Global Talent Acquisition team by supporting coordination of local recruitment processes, facilitating communication between candidates, managers, and recruiters, and helping navigate local requirements.
Ensure all HR processes are compliant with Japanese law and aligned with global standards.
Maintain and optimize HR systems and employee self-service tools, supporting efficient workflows and automation.
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, increased automation, and standardization; document procedures and drive implementation.
Balance the immediate needs of daily HR delivery with ongoing improvement initiatives—recognizing that the balance between these may shift as more processes become automated.
Collaborate with other Employee Success teams to share best practices and support global consistency.
Support complex HR cases (such as employee relations and terminations) and compliance matters in partnership with HRBPs, legal or business stakeholders.
Own and respond to HR-related audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate provision of documentation and information.
Assist with HR data analytics and reporting as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in HR operations/administration, ideally in a multinational environment.
Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and HR compliance.
Proven ability to deliver accurate, efficient, and compliant HR administration.
Demonstrated experience in process documentation, improvement, and HR automation.
Excellent communication skills; fluency in both English and Japanese is required.
Experience partnering with Talent Acquisition or recruitment teams.
Experience with HRIS platforms and self-service HR tools preferred.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a customer service orientation.
Proactive, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities.
Why Join Us?
Shape and deliver the future of HR operations in a global, inclusive environment.
Be the local HR delivery expert for Japan, while helping drive innovative ways of working.
Enjoy a role that values both operational excellence and continuous improvement—and the opportunity to grow as the role evolves.
