The Role
Skytap, a Kyndryl Company, is searching for a technology leader to join our senior leadership team. We are looking for a product visionary who loves digging into details as much as creating long-term strategic plans; someone who seeks to change the equation when the way forward seems blocked. Candidates must have a history of building and mentoring great teams to design, create, and operate modern distributed systems globally. This person will lead our engineering teams and must have a track record of creating services that business customers love. You must also understand what it takes to build and operate a highly available service that enterprise customers depend on to run business-critical systems. In addition to strong engineering leadership, we are looking for someone who can be a compelling external brand champion. You would help recruit new team members, expand our partnerships with Public Cloud providers, and win our most strategic customer opportunities.

About You:
As the leader of Skytap’s service, ideal candidates will have a strong point of view derived from experience designing and implementing cloud services. Familiarity with the practices used by the world’s leading technology companies to design, build, deploy, and operate infrastructure services at scale is strongly preferred. A passion for leadership skills and team building grounded in authenticity is a core skill.
You must also enjoy building teams and creating opportunities for individuals to grow. If we asked your former team members, we’d like to hear that you were their favorite manager. Both because you were an excellent leader who established clear expectations and because you cared about the people on your team.

Who You Are
Key Responsibilities:
Drive the company’s engineering and technology roadmaps to meet customer needs and ensure our product and business goals are aligned
Translate the product direction into an actionable roadmap and execution plan
Expand, support, and mentor a best-in-class team of 100+ people
Foster a culture of strategic ownership, scrappiness, and cross-functional collaboration
Use insights from data to drive decision, feature implementation, and operational excellence
Help model capacity requirements and utilization rates to predict and improve margins
Represent the engineering team by communicating direction and data-driven insights to leadership peers, customers, partners and Skytap’s Board of Directors
Qualifications:
15+ years of experience in technology leadership and software engineering
Domain expertise in IaaS or SaaS products
Experience working with enterprise software is a must
Experience working with and presenting to executives
Excellent understanding of cloud computing technologies, infrastructure management, and highly available large scale distributed systems
Experience leading and motivating engineering teams and managing complex operations
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams of engineers, as well as with customers and partners
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $173,280 to $370,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
There is a different applicable compensation range for the following work locations:
Washington: $190,560 to $362,160
This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off. Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.
