The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

In the effort of preparing the company to go IPO, the Revenue Technical Accounting team will support all functions in a complex environment that requires a high level of awareness of required governance and process integrity.

  • Drive scalability and streamline processes across the entire revenue operations function through automation, documentation, and standardization
  • Review complex transactions and prepare the technical memos (or checklist) to document the company’s position on accounting  treatment. 
  • Ensure revenue contracts are properly reviewed and accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and the company’s accounting policies
  • Partner with product and sales enablement team to understand changes in go-to market strategies and translate them into necessary changes in accounting process and policies
  • Evaluate existing processes and impact change leading to continuous improvement in efficiency in a fast paced environment
  • Lead, coach, and develop the US team responsible for complete and accurate revenue recognition utilizing selected revenue automation tool, Salesforce, NetSUite and adjacent systems
  • Oversight of Product, SaaS platforms and professional service-related accounting partnering with sales and operations for continuous improvement
  • Partnering closely with Sales, Commercial Controllership, Commercial Operations and FP&A to ensure precise, accurate, complete, and timely reporting of revenue
  • Managing and communicating throughout the monthly and quarterly financial close process with all stakeholders, including FP&A, SEC Reporting, Accounting Operations, Tax, Sales, Commercial Operations, external auditors and executive leadership
  • Sets and achieves Key metrics for your team
  • Develops a deep understanding of the Company’s quote-to-cash cycle
  • Draft, implement and execute policies, system changes and procedures to facilitate an effective and efficient revenue close cycle
  • Conducts training of both the stakeholders affected by these processes as well as the professionals who perform quoting and order processing
  • Partners with the information technology department to develop robust requirements for system enhancements, testing of all system changes before they go into production and monitoring of system performance
  • Identifies opportunities to improve processes, systems, and productivity to enable the Company to continue to scale as it grows both in existing markets and in new markets across both domestic and global geographies and customer segments
  • Complete month and quarter closes adhering to tight deadlines

What you bring to Komodo Health (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 9+ years of relevant experience  
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting, especially revenue recognition accounting standard (606)
  • Proven experience in a managerial role in accounting 
  • Ability to advise on contract structure that affects the company’s SaaS metrics (ARR, NDR, etc.)
  • Experience working in NetSuite and Salesforce/SFDC is a plus
  • Experience with implementation of revenue automation system
  • Deep understanding of SaaS Revenue recognition under ASC 606, including variable considerations, material right and accounting for contracts with opt out clauses
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership for projects and drive to completion
  • Experience with RevPro implementation and operation knowledge of the system, strongly preferred
  • Expertise with using Excel to handle large datasets
  • A mix of Big 4 and industry experience managing the order-to-cash function at complex companies (public company experience is a plus)
  • CPA or work experience with a public accounting firm preferred

The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of annual base pay that we reasonably expect to pay for this position within the US. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.

 

The starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan. This role may also be eligible for equity awards. In addition, this role is eligible for benefits including, but not limited to, comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible time off and holidays; 401(k) with company match; disability insurance and life insurance; and leaves of absence in accordance with applicable state and local laws and regulations and company policy. 

San Francisco Bay Area and New York City:
$209,000$260,000 USD
All Other US Locations:
$182,000$220,000 USD

Where You’ll Work

Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
