Learn more at About the JobAs a Senior Desktop Software Engineer (C# / .NET), you will lead the design, development, and optimization of robust desktop applications that run securely and efficiently across Windows, macOS, and Linux. You will collaborate with fellow engineers, product managers, and designers to implement cutting-edge functionality and maintain the highest standards of security and performance. This role requires a strong systems-level understanding and the ability to navigate OS-specific APIs and network communication protocols.<h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain new features for cross-platform desktop applications using C# and .NET Core</li> <li>Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and secure development standards</li> <li>Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in desktop software and underlying systems</li> <li>Work closely with product managers and designers to implement functional and user-friendly experiences</li> <li>Analyze and troubleshoot system issues across operating systems and hardware configurations</li> <li>Contribute to the software architecture and design of large-scale, security-focused desktop systems</li> <li>Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous team improvement</li> <li>Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and progress tracking</li> <li>Document technical decisions, solutions, and integration processes</li> <li>Stay current with the latest C#, .NET, and desktop application trends, libraries, and tools</li> </ul><ul> <li>5+ years of professional experience in desktop application development using C# and .NET</li> <li>Expertise in cross-platform desktop software engineering with a focus on Windows, macOS, and Linux environments</li> <li>Advanced knowledge of:</li> <ul> <li>API hooking and techniques for process inspection</li> <li>Ahead-of-Time (AOT) compilation and performance tuning</li> <li>Secure network communication protocols (HTTPS, MQTT, TCP, WebSockets)</li> </ul> <li>Deep understanding of native OS APIs and architecture on multiple platforms</li> <li>Strong troubleshooting skills and experience analyzing low-level application behavior</li> <li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams</li> <li>Experience in Agile development environments and code review processes</li> </ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Understanding of identity systems such as Active Directory, LDAP, and other identity providers (e.g., Okta, Azure AD)</li> <li>Background in endpoint security, secure desktop development, or operating system-level software</li> <li>Experience with open source contributions or SDK/tooling projects</li> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)</li> <li>U.S. Person status is preferred due to involvement with GovCloud-related projects</li> </ul>
