Role: Professional Services Consultant – Core & Edge and WAN Automation
Location: Bangalore
About the Position:
This highly technical role involves providing architectural design and implementation consultancy services for Juniper Networks solutions, specifically aimed at service provider customers. The consultant is responsible for developing and maintaining expertise in service provider network architectures and solutions. Additionally, they will apply network automation using WAN SDN controllers, such as the Juniper Paragon Automation Platform, to facilitate implementations and operations at the core, edge, access, and aggregation levels.
This is a full-time, post-sales position that may be performed onsite or remotely, as part of a larger Juniper Professional Services team. The role will require approximately 10% travel.
What is Juniper Paragon Automation Platform?
Juniper Paragon Automation is a modular suite of cloud-native software applications designed to help operators streamline their network operations by reducing manual tasks, processes, and workflows that are often repetitive and susceptible to human error.
Responsibilities:
· Work in a consultative manner with customers, sales, customer services, and systems engineering within the scope and deliver Professional Service projects.
· Run requirements and scoping workshops with customers, delivery partners, and sales.
· Involved in significant network deployments, implementations, and migrations. Produce design, validation, and migration plan.
· Evaluate customer networks for performance, scalability, and security, and provide recommendations to customers about improvements to network configurations and topologies to prevent problems before they occur.
· Develop in-depth technical knowledge of the Juniper Networks Routing product line, i.e., Paragon Automation, PTX, MX, vMX, and ACX-series equipment.
· Work with the internal Juniper Networks technical teams for placement of products and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
· Work closely with colleagues and customer personnel to help test, design, and plan for new products and features deployed.
· Support networks in the early stages of deployment
· Ensure that PS aspects of engagement follow engagement and delivery processes, working closely with the appropriate Project or Program Manager
· Provide appropriate training (Knowledge Transfer workshops) to Juniper Networks partners and customers.
· Develop strong relationships with the customers technical management and teams.
· Participation in requirements gathering workshops, discussions, and meetings with Customer’s Design, Test, and/or Engineering Teams
· Reviewing customer-provided (technical) information
· Providing input related to ‘best practices in design, implementation, and/or migration planning, and validation & verification testing
· Taking ownership of or assisting with creating assessments, High-Level Design, and Low-Level Design. Test Plans, Implementation, and Migration plans
· Providing customers with input related to recommended configurations and parameter values for Juniper equipment
· Assisting with migration planning and support to minimize impact and downtime
· Tracking and reporting of issues found during testing, Implementation, and migration
· Working with customers across different zones.
Must have Skills:
· Expert communication and interpersonal skills.

· Familiar with Juniper Paragon Automation SDN controller or similar SDN controllers of other vendors.
- Knowledge of Container-based Microservice architectures
- Familiar with container-based Cloud Management Platforms (Kubernetes & OpenShift)
· Excellent hands-on planning capabilities in TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, Traffic Engineering, IGP, BGP, and Internet peering/exchanges.
· Strong knowledge of IP-related protocols, including IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, RSVP, LDP, QOS solutions, and IPv6 standards/protocols
· Sound knowledge in a Service Provider background.
· Hands-on experience with Linux servers and network services (DHCP, SNMP, FTP, TFTP, DNS, NTP).
- Experience with at least one programming language. Python is preferred. Should be able to use a programming language to write basic scripts. (e.g., log parsing, sending API requests, automating everyday tasks)
- Should have Network Automation Domain knowledge
- Good Knowledge of REST APIs, XML, YAML, JINJA & YANG, and Ansible
· Effective consultancy, planning & communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work on multiple projects and manage customers appropriately.

Desirable Education and Experience:
· 8+ years’ experience in the telecommunications industry
· Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline
Desirable Skills:
- JUNOS skills and hands-on, and planning capabilities with MX Series, PTX Series, EX, and ACX Series products.
