Data Engineer Isio has commenced the journey towards a data warehouse approach to creating repeatable MI/BI and we are looking for someone to work with this solution to maintain and enhance it as business needs evolve. This will involve building and maintaining connections to Isio’s systems, ensuring the solution is designed and implemented efficiently and that reporting can be easily accessed by stakeholders. The role will report into the System Operations Manager and will work closely with IT and Business stakeholders from across Isio. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape and influence how data is used across Isio and youll play a central role in extending our Azure data warehouse through new system integrations, enabling deeper insights that support smarter, faster decision-making at every level of the firm.Role &amp; Responsibilities<ul><li>Working closely with colleagues in IT and other internal teams, notably Finance to build a roadmap of business use cases to ingest into the data warehouse to fuel reporting &amp; dashboards.</li><li>Own, monitor, and evolve the current Azure Data warehouse, developing and implementing data engineering best-practice (e.g., source-to-target mappings, coding standards, data quality, etc.), working closely with the external party who setup the environment</li><li>Create and maintain ETL processes, data mappings &amp; transformations to orchestrate data integrations.</li><li>Ensure data integrity, quality, privacy, and security across systems, in line with client and regulatory requirements</li><li>Optimise data solutions for performance and scalability. Explore new data management and processing techniques, making recommendations where appropriate.</li><li>Adhere to Isio’s software engineering best practices (e.g. technical design, review, unit testing, monitoring &amp; alerting, source code management and review, and documentation)</li><li>Become a subject matter expert and point of contact on available data within the business.</li><li>Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and create data models accordingly</li><li>Be accountable for ensuring ongoing documentation in held within Confluence and updated and maintained on a regular basis</li></ul>Key Skills &amp; ExperienceEssential<ul><li>Demonstrable experience in all aspects of the data engineering role, ideally as a senior or lead engineer.</li><li>Strong, hands-on experience of Azure Data Factory for managing and orchestrating ETL processes</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Fabric Products</li><li>Strong SQL experience, including SQL queries and stored procedures, and formal database design methodologies</li><li>Experience in setting up monitoring and data quality exception handling</li><li>Strong data modelling experience</li><li>Experience managing and developing CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Experience working with Microsoft Azure products</li><li>Experience of working with APIs to integrate data flows between disparate cloud systems</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively</li><li>Knowledge and understanding of best practise security standards</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish credibility and develop effective business relationships with colleagues</li><li>The ability to quickly understand information, business models and business requirements</li></ul>Desirable <ul><li>Modern development language coding experience</li> <li>Awareness of working in a regulated environment, with experience of data legislation and cyber security accreditations e.g., GDPR, ISO27001, Cyber Essentials</li><li>Expertise in Business Intelligence, ideally via Power BI for data visualization and reporting</li><li>Experience of working in a financial services firm</li><li>Experience of working in both Waterfall and Agile environments</li><li>Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate Certification </li><li>Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification</li></ul><ul></ul>What we offer youIsio is a people business, and we’re committed to helping our great colleagues gain a wide variety of experience, significant development opportunities and progression through the business.
