In 2024, we reached $134M in revenue and were named the #2 fastest growing AI company on the Inc. 5000.</p></div><h2><strong>About The Role</strong></h2> <p>We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with  AI experience, particularly recent hands-on work leveraging generative AI to build production-ready applications.</p> <p>As a Senior Engineer at Invisible, you’ll work closely with technical leads and product managers to design, build, and optimize backend systems that power AI-driven tools and applications. You’ll contribute to architectural discussions, own feature delivery end-to-end, and ensure the systems you build are robust, scalable, and maintainable.</p> <p>You’ll work across a modern backend stack (Python, Django, Postgres, GCP, Docker/Kubernetes) and leverage GenAI frameworks (OpenAI or others) to deliver high-impact internal and customer-facing solutions.</p> <h2><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services for AI-powered applications.</li> <li>Implement APIs, workflow systems, and event-driven architectures, including GraphQL subscriptions.</li> <li>Integrate generative AI frameworks to deliver intelligent product features.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with product, operations, and AI teams to ship high-quality solutions.</li> <li>Apply best practices in code quality, testing, observability, and security.</li> <li>Contribute to continuous improvement in our engineering processes, tooling, and architecture.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What We Need</strong></h2> <ul> <li>6+ years professional experience with Python development.</li> <li>Recent experience building applications or tools using generative AI frameworks (OpenAI or others), either professionally or through advanced side projects.</li> <li>Solid experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).</li> <li>Proficiency with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).</li> <li>Strong understanding of API design, workflow systems, and event-driven architectures.</li> <li>Experience with relational databases (Postgres preferred).</li> <li>Familiarity with modular software architecture and scalable system design principles.</li> <li>Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git.</li> <li>Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.</li> <li>Experience with Django, Doppler, Backstage, and observability tools (Datadog, Sentry) is a strong plus.</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What’s In It For You</strong></h2> <p>Invisible is committed to fair and competitive pay, ensuring that compensation reflects both market conditions and the value each team member brings.
