The Tax Specialist will also assist in the preparation of the tax provision under ASC 740 for the Company’s financial statements, including any return-to-provision adjustments and effective tax rate computation to support the company’s annual audit process. This position will report directly to the Director of Tax and work closely with accounting, legal, and external tax consultants. </span></div><div><br /></div><div><b>Overview of Department</b></div><div><span>The Intersect Tax team is expanding and we are looking to bring in a person to help with the preparation of the tax returns and quarterly provisions. The tax team serves two primary functions for the company: 1) managing the tax compliance and financial reporting and 2) working with project finance and legal on the structuring and analysis of transactions. This provides the tax team with visibility into many aspects of the Company. </span></div><h3>Responsibilities and Duties</h3><ul><li>Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate and partnership income tax workpapers as well as review of returns that will be prepared by 3rd party accounting firms</li><li>Preparing sales and property tax returns for Companys US and international operations</li><li>Assist in preparation of quarterly tax provisions for the Company’s financial statements including uncertain tax position and valuation allowance analysis and coordinate review by external service providers</li><li>Maintain fixed asset tax depreciation calculations</li><li>Work with third party tax advisors on projects such as Sec. 382 study, UNICAP analysis, and other projects, as needed</li><li>Monitor federal and state tax developments and implement them in tax workpapers and returns</li><li>Assist with income and non-income tax audits</li><li>Assist with tax due diligence, tax structuring and tax modeling on various strategic corporate initiatives</li><li>Working with EPCs and external advisors in tracking prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills</h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, ideally with a CPA or working toward completing a CPA</li><li>2-3 years of proven experience in corporate and partnership taxation</li><li>Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with all team members</li><li>Strong background in systems and process improvement</li><li>Knowledge of partnership rules under Subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code</li><li>Knowledge of ASC 740 is a plus</li><li>Experience in solar power / renewable energy industry considered a plus</li><li>Self-starter - willing to work independently and proactively</li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines</li><div><br /></div><div><i>*A note on qualifications: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description.
