We connect as a team at our Team Week experiences four times a year and at our recently established Hub locations - SF Bay Area, NYC Metro Area, NY; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Calgary, AB; and Toronto, ON.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><span>We are currently seeking candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><b>About This Position</b><span> </span></div><div><span>We are seeking an experienced and successful land acquisition professional who will lead real estate work streams on multiple large scale projects, land campaigns and land acquisition efforts in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial  environment. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Land and work closely with the Development Team.</span></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><h3>Responsibilities and Duties </h3><ul><li>Support various aspects of the Companys land acquisition process, from site due diligence to negotiating and securing all aspects of site control, including helping to resolve title and survey matters to closing site control agreements in connection with financing and construction. </li><li>Negotiate complex land and site acquisition agreements (lease, purchase, easements, surface waivers, etc.).</li><li>Manages 3rd party land agents on multiple site control campaigns.</li><li>Initiate and manage mineral ownership reports and surface waiver agreement campaigns.</li><li>Maintain site control trackers and provide progress reports internally across the organization. </li><li>Manage and work with landowners and community groups to facilitate strong community engagement and foster good relationships with the landowners.</li><li>Assist in preparing and updating land acquisition budgets.</li><li>Work closely with the Development and Permitting Teams to ensure acquisition efforts align with permitting schedules and constraints.</li><li>Provide ongoing support to the Development Team and Head of Land.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications and Skills </h3><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Management, Finance, Economics or other related field. </li><li>5+ years of real estate development or acquisition experience.</li><li>3+ years of experience or demonstrated track record of closing a variety of real estate transactions in the renewable energy industry, including fee acquisition and option exercises.</li><li>Experience researching mineral rights and acquisition of surface right waivers or associated agreements.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of standard land acquisition terms across multiple markets for solar and/or wind projects. </li><li>Well versed in reading, revising and negotiating complex real estate agreements.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li> Effective at influencing under-motivated counter-parties to adhere to the companys schedule and deadlines.</li><li>Independent and self-directed.</li><li>Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative, entrepreneurial environment.</li><li>Strong familiarity with land/environmental policy/law and mineral interests.</li><li>Passionate about renewable energy development.</li><li>Familiarity with google earth, GIS softwareExperience working with local, state, and federal agencies a plus.</li><div><br /></div><li><i>*A note on qualifications: Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description.
