<p>We are looking for a<b> Staff Embedded Software Engineer</b> to join the R&amp;D team responsible for developing new products and improving existing ones. This person is expected to be responsible for well-designed and well-tested code, and to apply creative solutions to problems.</p><p></p><p><b><span>Responsibilities </span></b></p><ul><li>Designs, develops, tests and documents embedded system software for new and existing Insulet products.</li><li>Ensures that their design is in compliance with Company policies, and that software activities are appropriate for the design and maintenance of medical products.</li><li>Writes and maintains design documentation and testing requirements.</li><li>Works with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and Manufacturing to ensure that designs meet technical, regulatory and manufacturing requirements.</li><li>Works closely with other software, software QA, systems, and hardware engineers to integrate, debug, and test systems.</li><li>Participate in product design reviews.</li><li>Directs and mentors other engineers.</li><li>Communicates with multiple levels of the organization.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Required Skills and Competencies</span></b></p><ul><li>7+ years of relevant work experience</li><li>Strong programming skills in C and/or C++</li><li>Hands-on experience with embedded systems</li><li>Experience on processors like ARM, TI, ST (or similar embedded system microcontrollers)</li><li>Familiarity with communication systems and/or wireless protocols</li><li>Good understanding of real time systems</li><li>Detail oriented, with effective verbal and written communication skills</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Preferred Skills and Competencies</span></b></p><ul><li>Knowledge of I2C, SPI, Flash, EEPROM and/or USB</li><li>Object-oriented programming, as implemented in C</li><li>RTOS knowledge and experience</li><li>Experience with FDA and other medical regulatory environments</li><li>Knowledge of wireless protocols like Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)</li><li>Agile or other software development life cycle concepts</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Education and Experience</span></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree or above in Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering preferred<br /> </li></ul><p><b>Additional Information</b></p><ul><li><span><b>NOTE</b>: This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements (requires on-site work from an Insulet office at least 1x/week; may work remotely other days). #LI-Hybrid </span> .
