As a Decision Scientist, you will be responsible for owning key Marketing Analytics projects and providing actionable and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders across Marketing and other ibotta teams. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside talented individuals across multiple analytics and marketing disciplines This position has the ability to directly impact results through developing, execution and measuring our strategy and tactics. You will leverage the latest developments in statistics, modeling, and testing methodologies to understand the business in-depth, support and challenge strategic options, and build state-of-the-art analytical and BI tools to improve our marketing plans.This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must live in the United States.Here is what you will be doing:<ul><li>Work cross-functionally with the Marketing team in analyzing customer segments and uncovering key, actionable insights about Ibotta user acquisition, lifecycle, and behaviors</li><li>Provide thought leadership and insight on performance metrics and attribution methodologies</li><li>Work directly with teams from a wide variety of functions including Finance, Revenue/ Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Machine Learning and other Analytics teams.</li><li>Run statistical analysis and create predictive models based on past user purchases and data</li><li>Design, execute, and analyze controlled experiments to determine the impact of new approaches and be able to translate results into recommendations</li><li>Provide impactful presentations of data and insights to Marketing and company leadership in a clear and concise fashion </li><li>Represent the Marketing department on company wide data related task forces. Be vocal and represent our stakeholders needs as well as communicate back key learnings, findings or procedures</li><li>​​Embrace and uphold Ibotta’s Core Values: Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, Transparency, &amp; A good idea can come from anywhere</li></ul>What we are looking for:<ul><li>3+ years of real world work experience in an analytical function.  Experience with marketing or a related function in a consumer-facing or B2B industry strongly preferred.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics or a related field required. Advanced analytics or statistics degree or preferred.  A combination of additional high level relevant work experience and technical boot camp or courses may substitute for specific degree requirement.</li><li>Understanding of general business concepts, experience with Consumer and/ or B2B marketing tactics and concepts preferred (examples include Customer Long Term Value and lifecycle, User Acquisition and Retention)</li><li>Technical experience and proficiency working with:<ul><li>Data analysis tools and languages  (e.g., Databricks, SQL, Python/R, Pyspark, Spark, Git/GitHub, Excel/ Google Suite )</li><li>BI &amp; other visualization tools (e.g., Looker)</li><li>Data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes </li><li>Third party marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics (GA4) , Braze, Salesforce, MMP’s (mobile measurement partner) and similar.</li></ul></li><li>Foundation in building accurate and performant forecasting and data modeling including:<ul><li>Time series modeling, forecasting and seasonality</li><li>Predictive models to drive strategic business decision making</li><li>Classification modeling and techniques of personalizing customer experiences</li></ul></li><li>Proficient in applied statistical analysis methods, experimental design, and hypothesis testing</li><li>Experience collecting, delivering and analyzing large, multi‐dimensional data sets</li><li>Excellent communication skills, including development of data summaries, visualizations and other storytelling methods</li><li>Problem solving skills including the ability to think of new or abstract ways of measuring the unmeasurable</li><li>Proven success in leveraging the tools and analytical approaches above to generate business value</li></ul> About Ibotta (I bought a...)Ibotta (NYSE: IBTA) is a leading performance marketing platform allowing brands to deliver digital promotions to over 200 million consumers through a network of publishers called the Ibotta Performance Network (IPN).
