POS-15807 <hr /> <h3>About the Team</h3> HubSpot’s Design Systems team builds the foundations for a world-class user experience. Supporting over 2,400 product managers, UXers, and engineers, the system includes 350+ coded components, 300+ illustrations, robust documentation, and a flexible contribution model. We’re a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to shaping the future of our design system that will enable our HubSpot products to be more consistent, and customer-centric with a focus on high-quality and driving customer and business value. We come from diverse backgrounds and like to talk about design thinking and push the boundaries of what is possible.  <h3>About the Role</h3> We’re looking for a designer to shape and scale how motion UX design can elevate our product experiences. You’ll craft principles, patterns, and tools that add clarity, cohesion, and emotional resonance—making motion a core part of our design system. <h4>In this role, you will:</h4> <ul> <li>Define strategy for motion across our design system: principles, guidelines, and scalable patterns. </li> <li>Collaborate with design, engineering, and brand teams to create reusable, accessible motion standards. </li> <li>Prototype motion that enhances usability, transitions, interactions, and information hierarchy that will be unique to HubSpot. </li> <li>Build motion guidelines and documentation to empower teams to implement motion consistently. </li> <li>Embed accessibility standards (e.g., reduced motion preferences, timing guidelines). </li> <li>Maintain and evolve motion tokens, transitions, and interactions across platforms (React). </li> <li>Mentor designers and promote motion literacy via demos, critiques, and workshops. </li> <li>Contribute to updating our design language (typography, iconography, elevation, etc.) with a focus on interaction design, microanimations, AI loading states, pictogram motion, and transitions. </li> <li>Use AI design tools to explore and prototype forward-thinking motion concepts. </li> </ul> <h3>What You’ll Tackle</h3> <ul> <li>Designing opinionated motion components that balance usability, craft, and performance. </li> <li>Embedding motion into a11y-compliant components while navigating system-wide consistency. </li> <li>Defining a governance model that drives adoption and scalability across all product teams. </li> <li>Supporting a design transformation with a high bar for quality and cohesion. </li> </ul> <h3>What We’re Looking For</h3> <ul> <li>A portfolio showing system-level motion design that solved complex UX challenges, that shows you care about the details and love creating productive to expressive motion patterns, prototypes, and assets. </li> <li>Deep expertise in motion principles, usability, accessibility, and interaction design. </li> <li>Experience developing bespoke motion patterns that expresses a brand and product. </li> <li>Track record of shipping motion in production-ready systems, in partnership with engineers. </li> <li>Experience in building and documenting component libraries and token strategies. </li> <li>Ability to prioritize, drive projects, and make data-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. </li> <li>Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to influence cross-functional teams and leadership. </li> <li>Expert skills in using Figma, After Effects, and Lottie. </li> <li>A curious mindset with a passion for emerging tools like Replit and Lovable to accelerate the conceptualization of ideas. </li> </ul> <h3>About UX at HubSpot</h3> Our UX team is a passionate and diverse group of more than 200 product designers, content designers, researchers, and design ops folks who build consumer-grade experiences while solving enterprise-level problems.
