About This Role: We are seeking an insurance analytics manager who will lead a team in building an analytics and reporting framework that enables data-driven decisions and drives the insurance organization forward. You’ll be responsible not only for ensuring core reporting that is delivered to business unit leaders is accurate, timely and actionable, but also for pushing the boundaries on how we can go deeper both in depth and breadth of analysis leveraging new data sources as well as our best in class tech stack. This role will work closely with business teams, data engineering and product and we are looking for someone who is equally comfortable diving into technical details as well as communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders. This role is a perfect fit for an individual with an exceptional foundation in insurance fundamentals who is looking to flex their creative muscle to build and innovate. About You: You are creative and self-motivated with strong attention to detail and a solid grounding in insurance fundamentals. You are eager to tackle problems in a fast-paced technology environment and are comfortable quickly assessing trade-offs and operating with some ambiguity. You’re able to identify and balance solving the long-term vs. short-term goals of the company by leveraging data-driven results and a depth of analysis appropriate for the situation. You are a highly effective communicator with exceptional organizational skills and have the ability to define and document modern, robust processes. What You’ll Do: <ul> <li>Manage team of insurance analysts and build consistent career track for junior analysts by establishing frameworks, shared tools, and best practices</li> <li>Own the core insurance metrics layer: how we define, model, and communicate metrics across the insurance organization</li> <li>Collaborate closely with business teams, data engineering and product managers to ensure system design and data capture meet business needs as well as see data use through to completion in reporting and/or analytics</li> <li>Design dashboards and develop automated reporting for insurance stakeholders and BU leaders</li> <li>Translate business questions into appropriate analytic framework, identifying and rectifying data gaps where necessary</li> <li>Communicate findings to business unit leaders including identifying key assumptions and supporting findings with concise summary of underlying analysis</li> <li>Serve as thought partner connecting work across the insurance verticals</li> <li>Promote a culture of thorough documentation, ensuring reproducibility of results</li> </ul> Must Haves: · <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, or degree in quantitative field </li> <li>7+ years of experience in personal lines insurance data and analytics domains </li> <li>Proven experience leading teams, with 3-5 yrs of direct people management responsibility including performance development, coaching and fostering a collaborative team culture</li> <li>Ability to design short- and long-range team project plans and track progress against goals</li> <li>Familiarity with insurance data across multiple domains – actuarial, UW, claims, etc.</li> <li>Skilled in writing, directing, and reviewing code in SQL and Python</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership experience selecting narrow team priorities from a range of options</li> <li>Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels</li> </ul> Nice To Haves: <ul> <li>Experience with version control systems such as Git</li> <li>Experience at an Insurtech company</li> </ul> Benefits and Perks: Hippo treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we’re fortunate to provide all of our Hippos with:  <ul> <li>Healthy Hippos Benefits - Multiple medical plans to choose from and 100% employer covered dental &amp; vision plans for our team members and their families.
