Utilizing an iterative development approach to aircraft, Hermeus’ high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft aim to deliver capabilities at a pace not seen in the U.S. since the 1950s. </span></div><div><br /></div><div>We are currently seeking a motivated <b>Platform Engineer/Technician</b> to join the Mission Systems Engineering team at Hermeus!</div><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Ground Control Stations.</li><li>Install, configure, and maintain flight critical IT systems, communication tools, and mission-enhancing hardware/software.</li><li>Install, configure, and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs).</li><li>Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mission systems.</li></ul><h3>Basic Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance. </li><li>Technician: 5+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance.</li><li>Proficient with common avionics/RF tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, spectrum analyzers, cannon-plug tools, oscilloscopes, etc. </li><li>Proficient in basic electronics maintenance and repair. </li><li>Proficient in the soldering of RF coaxial connectors. </li><li>Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as Ethernet, switches, routers, and servers. </li><li>Familiarity with command-and-control concepts, strong problem-solving and diagnostics ability, and a team-first mentality.</li><li>Comfortable reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and working with electronics.</li><li>Proficient in building aerospace-grade cable/harness assemblies (D38999 and similar)</li><li>Ability and desire to travel for several weeks at a time to work on-location with the Ground Control Station at various military bases and airports.</li><li>Able to lift heavy gear and thrive in hands-on environments.</li><li>Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift for installing/maintaining/troubleshooting RF hardware. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and associated Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. </li></ul><h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3><ul><li>10+ years experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex aerospace RF/SATCOM/IT systems. </li><li>Proficiency in Linux. </li><li>Proficient in basic computer networking. </li><li>Prior experience maintaining operational RPA GCS’s. </li><li>Certifications such as CCNA and Security+.</li></ul><div><b>U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS</b><span> </span></div><div><span>The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by </span><a href="https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/section-120.62">22 C.F.R. § 120.62</a><span> or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
