About the roleAs a Mental Health Counselor, you will support employees and their families dealing with various issues, from workplace stress to family problems and mental health concerns. Our ideal Online Mental Health Counselor would embrace our values of care, collaboration, courage, impact, and trust.  Since we are supporting the counseling needs of teachers and school staff, counseling sessions will typically be from 3:30pm-9:00pm on the weekdays.  Weekend hours are also available.What youll do<ul><li>Provide high-quality online counseling services to mostly adults by phone or video.</li><li>Assess clients for suitability for short-term counseling.</li><li>Provide services with kindness, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.</li><li>Collaborate in developing clear and concise treatment plans for clients.</li><li>Assessing and managing high-risk calls and working closely with individuals at risk.</li><li>Provide clear clinical documentation in our platform that supports progress towards their goals.</li><li>Initiate counseling and outpatient referrals.</li><li>Participate in meetings as needed.</li></ul>QualificationsEducation and Experience: <ul><li>Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage/Family Counseling, or related field</li><li>Active mental health license in North Carolina (LCSW, LCPC, LPC, LMFT, LMHC, etc.)</li><li>Independent Contractor (1099) position with fee per service of $35-$65 per service</li><li>Hours available - 3:00pm-9:00pm M-F Weekend hours also available</li><li>2+ years of experience in a mental health setting</li><li>Computer proficiency, solid typing skills</li><li>Reliable wi-fi/internet access and a distraction free work environment</li><li>Background working with various age groups</li><li>Crisis management experience</li><li>We request a minimum 6 hour a week commitment</li></ul>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: <ul><li>Excellent Technology &amp; Computer proficiency, including the ability to learn new digital platforms.</li><li>Reliable Wi-Fi/Internet access.</li><li>Distraction-free work environment. </li><li>Flexibility and adaptability in day-to-day operations.</li></ul> Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Manual dexterity to operate a telephone and enter data into a computer. </li><li>Facility to sit at a desk, conference table, or in meetings of various configurations for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation. </li><li>Facility to see and read, with or without visual aids, laws and codes, rules, policies, and other printed matter, and computer screens and printouts with or without reasonable accommodation. </li><li>Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and to hear and understand speech on the telephone with or without reasonable accommodation. </li><li>Facility to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal conversations, in training sessions, and in other meetings with or without reasonable accommodation.</li><li>Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work well under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks.</li><li>Note: This list of essential functions and physical requirements is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary.</li></ul>CompensationThis is an independent contractor (1099) position with a fee per service of $35-$65 per service.   <hr /> This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
