Do you want to work with a team of experienced I-O psychologists at the cutting edge of technology and talent assessment?<br /><br />HackerRank is seeking a <strong>part-time intern</strong> to join our I-O Psychology team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to both customer-facing projects and strategic internal initiatives, while gaining first-hand experience working in a fast-paced SaaS company.<br /><br />You’ll support efforts to design, validate, and deliver technical assessments used in hiring for some of the world’s most in-demand developer roles. You’ll also help build scalable internal processes and contribute to research that informs both product strategy and thought leadership. In short, you’ll get a front-row seat to the evolving world of tech hiring and how I-O psychology shapes it.</p> <h2><strong>What youll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Support customer projects by assisting with job analysis, validation studies, and assessment implementation for technical roles</li> <li>Analyze HackerRank product data (e.g., scores, completion times, usage patterns) to uncover insights and support customer recommendations</li> <li>Contribute to the creation of reports, slide decks, and other deliverables for both internal and external audiences</li> <li>Participate in the development of scalable tools, templates, and protocols to support our professional services operations</li> <li>Conduct background research and data analysis to support customer and product initiatives</li> <li>Collaborate with and learn from experienced I-O psychologists and internal stakeholders across our Go-to-Market Team</li> </ul> <h2><strong>Who you are</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong>PhD student</strong> in Industrial-Organizational Psychology who has completed coursework and comprehensive exams (i.e., ABD status)</li> <li>Strong foundation in employee selection, including:</li> <ul> <li>Psychometrics and measurement theory</li> <li>Validation strategies (e.g., content, criterion-related)</li> <li>Familiarity with the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures and related EEO regulations</li> </ul> <li>Proficiency in statistical reasoning and tools (e.g., R, SPSS)</li> <li>Strong technical writing and synthesis skills</li> <li>Experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to drive efficiency and repeatability in technical writing, research synthesis, or task automation</li> <li>Comfort working in applied, fast-paced environments with multiple concurrent priorities</li> <li>A collaborative spirit and openness to feedback, mentorship, and learning</li> </ul> <h2>Even better if you have</h2> <ul> <li>Demonstrated use of GenAI to create scalable, repeatable processes (e.g., reusable prompts, content templates, or research workflows)</li> <li>Experience with technical, software development jobs or software development concepts</li> <li>Familiarity with SaaS business models or tech environments</li> <li>Experience contributing to SIOP proposals, blogs, or other thought leadership content</li> <li>Familiarity with how AI is changing technical work and talent assessment</li> </ul><div><p><strong>Want to learn more about HackerRank?</strong> Check out <a href="http://hackerrank.com/">HackerRank.com</a> to explore our products, solutions and resources, and dive into our story and mission <a href="https://www.hackerrank.com/about-us/">here</a>.</p> <p>HackerRank is a proud equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
