This hybrid role blends onboarding, consultative sales, and customer success to drive long-term value for Gustos SMB customers. Key Responsibilities <ul> <li>Own the early customer journey by driving product activation and onboarding success within the first 90 days.</li> <li>Execute a structured multi-touch outreach cadence (up to 10 call attempts + email follow-ups) to achieve 6 quality connections per day.</li> <li>Deliver high-impact product consultations to educate, upsell, or accelerate adoption based on customer needs.</li> <li>Hit key daily metrics including 60+ calls, 2 demos, and timely follow-ups across your book of business.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records in Salesforce to track activation milestones and opportunities</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with support, success, and product teams to continually improve the onboarding experience.</li> </ul> About the Team: Our team may be small, but we’re a mighty group of sales professionals united by a deep passion for consultative selling. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day: <ul> <li>Proactively engage existing customers through outbound efforts, consistently meeting daily KPIs including 60+ calls, 2 product demonstrations, and targeted cross-sell and upsell opportunities.</li> <li>Drive revenue growth by educating and empowering customers on Gusto’s features, integrations, and value-added services.</li> <li>Promote product adoption and cross-functional integrations that align with each customers evolving business needs.</li> <li>Deliver consultative, solution-based guidance to uncover opportunities for expansion, increase platform engagement, and position Gusto as a long-term partner.</li> <li>Boost retention and customer lifetime value through proactive relationship management and strategic outreach.</li> <li>Continuously test, optimize, and scale high-impact sales motions to fuel the success of our growing team.</li> </ul> Here’s what were looking for: <ul> <li>Must have 2-4 years of experience in high-volume, customer-facing sales roles such as a SMB or Mid-Market Account Executive in the HR or SaaS Sales experience.</li> <li>Proven outbound calling experience, with the ability to engage customers effectively and drive meaningful conversations.</li> <li>Passionate about supporting small business owners, helping them succeed through empathetic, consultative, and solution-oriented discussions.</li> <li>Comfortable with ambiguity and open to experimentation as the team continues to evolve and refine its approach.</li> <li>Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics—such as payroll and R&amp;D tax credits—into clear, accessible explanations.</li> <li>Analytical and strategic thinker, capable of identifying patterns across individual conversations and translating them into actionable insights and recommendations.</li> <li>Self-motivated and energized by continuous learning, always striving to develop new skills and deliver the best work of your career.</li> <li>Must have experience with Salesforce, with the ability to leverage CRM tools to manage customer interactions efficiently</li> <li>Must have experience using the following sales methodologies MEDDPIC, Richardson, Challenger and/or GAP Selling.</li> </ul> Our cash compensation range for this role is $89,000 to $116,000 OTE in Denver, Atlanta, Phoenix, Chicago and most remote locations. Remote locations will vary based on our geographical pay approach. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.  <div><hr /> Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gustos subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
