Learn more about our <a href="https://gusto.com/about/careers/total-rewards">Total Rewards philosophy</a>. </div>About the Role: As a member of the IT Infrastructure Engineering team, you will be part of the broader IT Experience org (IT Operations + IT Engineering).  Your primary responsibility will be the development of AI solutions and ongoing AI strategy at Gusto.  Also, you will be a contributing member of the team responsible for managing our organizations infrastructure systems and networks to ensure they are functioning and meet Gusto’s needs. About the Team: The IT Infrastructure Team at Gusto is responsible for managing and maintaining the companys infrastructure systems and networks. They develop and deploy AI-driven solutions, manage hardware and software, ensure system security, and support IT operations. The team also works with cloud and virtualization technologies, focuses on automation, and upholds high standards for disaster recovery and security. Additionally, they lead training sessions, collaborate cross-functionally, and continuously improve infrastructure tools and processes. Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day: <ul> <li>Collaborate with internal teams to understand workflows, identify pain points, and design AI-driven solutions that enhance productivity.</li> <li>Develop, deploy, and continuously improve custom AI tools tailored to internal needs, incorporating user feedback for iterative enhancements.</li> <li>Partner cross-functionally with Engineers, Designers, and other AI team members to integrate AI into existing systems and processes.</li> <li>Lead training sessions and workshops to empower teams in effectively adopting AI solutions.</li> <li>Contribute to AI strategy and roadmap planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maximum impact.</li> <li>Stay current on AI trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into internal tools.</li> <li>Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and networks.</li> <li>Ensure system security, performance monitoring, and data backup/recovery to maintain efficient and secure operations.</li> <li>Support IT operations through ticket management, account setup, documentation, and participation in rotational on-call duties.</li> <li>Work with technologies like VMWare, Microsoft, Veeam, Nutanix, and SRW to support infrastructure and OKR-related projects.</li> </ul> Here’s what were looking for: <ul> <li>5+ years of IT Infrastructure experience, primarily using Python and containerizing solutions with Docker and Kubernetes in AWS and Azure environments</li> <li>2+ years of hands-on experience building AI-centric products (machine learning, generative AI, deep learning, statistical modeling) using tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Cursor, Gemini, and Glean</li> <li>Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls)</li> <li>Proficient in virtualization technologies including VMware, Horizon, and hyperconverged infrastructure</li> <li>Familiar with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and Chef</li> <li>Solid grasp of backup/recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and security best practices</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills</li> <li>Passionate about automation and optimizing workflows for efficiency</li> <li>Tech enthusiast always eager to explore new tools, apps, and technologies</li> <li>Strong communicator with outstanding people and collaboration skills</li> <li> </li> </ul> Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $150,000/yr to $165,000/yr in Denver &amp; most remote locations, and $180,000/yr to $200,000/yr in New York, Seattle &amp; San Francisco Bay Area. Stock equity is additional. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.<div><hr /> Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gustos subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
