Job Family:General Coding Travel Required:None Clearance Required:NoneWhat You Will Do:<ul><li>Assists coders, compliant documentation management staff, and the Internal Revenue Integrity team with complex patient care cases by analyzing documentation and discussing correct code assignment.</li><li>Reviews medical records flagged through the SMART (Inpatient and Outpatient tools) software for patterns of coding errors and opportunities for coder and /or clinical education.</li><li>Serves as a technical expert/resource for department manager, staff, physicians, administrative, and external customers to provide information or clarification accurate and ethical coding and documentation standards, guidelines and regulatory requirements.</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by management.</li></ul>What You Will Need:<ul><li>Requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience; (Relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)</li><li>Currently certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)</li><li>A inpatient coding background at a senior level including coding of outpatient/inpatient charts as well as well as data management and coder audit and education experience.</li><li>Must maintain credential throughout employment</li></ul> What Would Be Nice To Have:<ul><li>Experience working in any of the following systems:  EPIC, Cerner, Next Gen, Allscripts or any other EHR</li><li>Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology</li></ul>The annual salary range for this position is $68,000.00-$113,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
