What Youll Do (Responsibilities): <ul> <li>Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Backend Engineers to translate ideas and requirements into high-quality, user-centric features and improvements on the GoFundMe platform.</li> <li>Lead the development of features primarily on the frontend, with opportunities to contribute across the full stack as needed.</li> <li>Uphold and elevate our engineering standards by actively participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and mentoring other engineers on best practices for style, maintainability, and performance.</li> <li>Independently drive the development and shipment of brand-new features and complex improvements, demonstrating strong ownership from conception through to deployment with minimal guidance.</li> <li>Contribute significantly to system reliability and operational excellence by participating in on-call rotations and leading the troubleshooting and resolution of incidents.</li> <li>Proactively identify areas of technical debt and architectural weaknesses; design, propose, and implement effective solutions to enhance codebase health and scalability.</li> <li>Champion continuous improvement within the team by advocating for enhancements to our codebase, tools, and processes; provide technical leadership and guidance to fellow team members.</li> </ul> What Youll Bring (Required Qualifications): <ul> <li>5+ years of professional experience developing, testing, and shipping complex, customer-facing web applications.</li> <li>Experience developing frontend Checkout payments experiences</li> <li>Direct professional experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.</li> <li>Proven ability to translate high-fidelity mockups and designs into beautiful, pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible web applications using tools such as UI design systems and modern CSS techniques/frameworks.</li> <li>Solid experience with frontend testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Jest, Playwright) and code quality linters/formatters (e.g., ESLint).</li> <li>Strong understanding and practical experience with client-side performance analysis and optimization techniques.</li> <li>Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (branching, code reviews, pull requests) in a team environment.</li> <li>Experience working effectively in an agile, intensely iterative software development process.</li> <li>Familiarity with application performance monitoring (APM) and log analytics tools to diagnose and address issues.</li> </ul> Nice-to-Have Qualifications: <ul> <li>Experience with backend development, particularly using Java, NodeJS or Kotlin.</li> <li>Experience integrating frontend applications with GraphQL APIs.</li> <li>Hands-on experience implementing and utilizing observability tools (monitoring, logging, alerting).</li> <li>Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, specifically using GitHub Actions and merge queues.</li> <li>Familiarity with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes / K8s), and cloud platforms (AWS).</li> </ul> Why you’ll love it here <ul> <li>Make an Impact: Be part of a mission-driven organization making a positive difference in millions of lives every year.</li> <li>Innovative Environment: Work with a diverse, passionate, and talented team in a fast-paced, forward-thinking atmosphere.</li> <li>Collaborative Team: Join a fun and collaborative team that works hard and celebrates success together.</li> <li>Competitive Benefits: Enjoy competitive pay and comprehensive healthcare benefits.</li> <li>Holistic Support: Enjoy financial assistance for things like hybrid work, family planning, along with generous parental leave, flexible time-off policies, and mental health and wellness resources to support your overall well-being.</li> <li>Growth Opportunities: Participate in learning, development, and recognition programs to help you thrive and grow.</li> <li>Commitment to DEI: Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing initiatives and employee resource groups.</li> <li>Community Engagement: Make a difference through our volunteering program.</li> </ul> We live by our core values: impatient to be great, find a way, earn trust every day, fueled by purpose. The total annual salary for this full-time position is $156,000 - $234,000 + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
