Summary of This Role

  • Manage compliance of platforms that are responsible for clearing transactions to the card schemes (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover) and running settlements for the business clients.

  • Evaluate card scheme changes that occur every quarter, assess their impacts, generate functional requirements for the Clearing and Settlement platforms, drive requirements into the cross-functional teams, and ensure successful rollout of the changes.

  • Support cross-functional teams by providing guidance, navigating complex card scheme requirements and assisting with production issues.

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of your domain and provide subject matter expertise on projects and initiatives that are business and compliance driven.

  • Identify risk (financial, deliverable, and technical) and propose solutions to mitigate it.

  • Deliver high quality work.

  • Articulate, communicate and drive discussion with various stakeholders including business leaders, product owners, system architects, coders and testers.

  • Demonstrate good writing skills.

  • Build strong and trusted relationships with internal stakeholders as well as our partners at the card schemes.

What Part Will You Play?

  • Reviews risks and compliance requirements to assure the production process is not negatively impacted.

  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure card brand compliance inquiries and issues/risk are resolved in a timely fashion.

  • Provides timely, relevant and effective communications to stakeholders at all levels, internal/external.

  • Researches and communicates risk and compliance information to achieve compliant, resilient, and ethical people centered operations.

  • Provides communications to clients with specific information through presentations, emails and phone conversations, and data analysis.

  • Interacts directly with clients, vendors and suppliers, card brand networks, and all areas of the company related to risk and compliance issues and requirements.

  • Collaborates and fosters relationships, builds cross functional teams within the company and professional associations.

  • Identifies and resolves issues and works through the problem to identify the root cause.

  • Cultivates relationships with payment schemes to influence outcomes which align with company and client strategy and advance the companys position as a global leader in compliance, security, risk, fraud and innovation.

  • Decreases financial exposure and manages risk by leveraging insights to develop and execute remediation plans and manage fees and fines.

  • Maintains enterprise risk and compliance policies.

  • Evaluates effectiveness of established controls to ensure gaps are identified and risk is within tolerance.

  • Communicates risk and compliance gaps or emerging threats to senior and executive management by identifying potential compliance, operational, financial, or reputational exposures and impacts with recommended remediation and communication plans for issue resolution.

  • Promotes a positive risk and compliance culture across the enterprise.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have payment industry experience, specifically knowledge about major card scheme networks, such as, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

  • Must have a good understanding of the transaction flow, specifically authorizations, interchange qualification, clearing and settlement.

  • Must have experience working in a fast paced environment, constantly changing priorities, and complex work assignments.

  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Bachelors Degree in: Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or related field; or equivalent training or experience in lieu of degree.

  • Typically Minimum 8+ years relevant experience.

  • Professional experience working with many stakeholders including technology, quality assurance, account management, production support.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge about Card Scheme Compliance programs for regions outside U.S, such as Canada and Latin America.

  • Knowledge about PIN Debit Networks such as Interlink, Pulse etc.

  • Knowledge about payment products such as EMV, Tokenization, Digital Wallets, Edit Package etc.

  • Project management experience.

  • Experience with agile and SCRUM  system delivery methodology.

  • Understanding data structures and reporting.

  • Working towards a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP).

Pay: Pay Range is from $74,000.00 - $100,500.00.
