This includes ownership of our deployment systems, operational tooling, feature flag systems, developer portal, and Kubernetes infrastructure for running microservices.

  • Ensure that individuals on the team are learning, growing and advancing in their respective careers through mentorship, pairing, and delegating work
  • Foster an environment that strives for clear communication, accessibility, and understanding
  • Own and advocate for the health and quality of the systems that the team builds, participate in a manager on-call rotation, and respond to incidents as necessary
  • Ensure the team, the company and the community have a clear understanding of the direction of the projects and the reasoning behind decisions
  • Drive data driven improvements to both product quality and engineering excellence and efficiency across your organization
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience designing, developing, and shipping high quality software at scale
  • 5+ years of engineering people management experience including 3+ years as a manager of managers.
  • Experience building engineering systems for internal and external use and driving engineering strategy and long-term roadmap, taking into account organization design and scaling teams sustainably

  • 7+ years of engineering people management experience including 4+ years as a manager of managers.
  • Excellent analytical skills as well as communication skills both verbal and written. We’re a distributed team so we’re extra mindful about communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract talent to build highly functional technical teams, with a strong track record of managing performance, calibrating expectations, and building and maintaining a high performing organization
