GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer II with a passion for building Productivity solutions that will drive successful outcomes for all employees. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating a culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.
Position Description
We’re looking for an Engineer II to join our Collaboration team, focused on administering, supporting and optimizing our Microsoft 365 platform, with emphasis on SharePoint and OneDrive. This individual will play a key role in ensuring a secure, well-governed, and user-friendly collaboration environment across the organization. The ideal candidate has broad and deep knowledge and experience in establishing and implementing proactive SharePoint Governance to enhance security, compliance, and to prepare for Microsoft 365 Copilot usage, preferably with the AvePoint Cloud Governance toolset.
Position Responsibilities
As an Engineer II, you will:
Provide operational and administrative support for SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
Establish, implement, and maintain governance policies using tools such as AvePoint Cloud Governance (or similar).
Troubleshoot user issues, escalate as needed, and ensure timely resolution. Provide excellent customer service.
Monitor platform performance and ensure compliance with internal standards and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Security, Compliance, etc) to support business needs and improve platform usability.
Assist in platform upgrades, migrations, and integration initiatives.
Create and maintain documentation for configuration, procedures, and end-user support.
Collaborate closely with managers and lead engineers to share and drive technical direction of the platform.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365, specifically SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
Experience with SharePoint governance and lifecycle management.
Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Familiarity with AvePoint or other SharePoint governance tools.
Strong understanding of collaboration platform security, access controls, and user permissions.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
Familiarity with Scripting an automation (e.g., PowerShell, Power Platform)
Experience working in an enterprise or regulated environment.
Microsoft certification related to Microsoft 365 or SharePoint preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
Annual Salary
$80,000.00 - $160,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
