Ready to join us? </div>This position is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining data science solutions with particular emphasis on data processing, algorithms, and machine learning methods. The scope of the role includes both existing software products and new products in development. WHAT YOULL DO <ul> <li>Lead highly complex data science projects without supervision.</li> <li>Design and develop data science solutions for both customer-facing applications and internal use.</li> <li>Design and develop machine learning models in production environments.</li> <li>Identify and evaluate new platforms and technologies to enhance our existing systems.</li> <li>Consult with end users to prototype and refine new and existing products.</li> <li>Define and enforce our development best practices and standards.</li> <li>Provide mentorship and assistance to junior and senior data scientists.</li> <li>Collaborate with product managers and development directors to maintain product roadmaps and prioritize new features.</li> <li>Coordinate project activities of a fully remote team.</li> <li>Engage with engineering and MLOPs teams to understand requirements and constraints for multiple products.</li> <li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of related data science topics and technologies.</li> <li>Serve as the technical expert on the development of ML models including feature-engineered, LLMs, and generative models.</li> <li>Share your technical knowledge and domain expertise with team members.</li> <li>Become a domain expert in multiple cybersecurity application areas.</li> <li>Write technical documentation based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.</li> </ul> Staff Management <ul> <li>Manage workloads, expectations, and communication of progress between staff and upper management.</li> <li>Manage employee’s performance, time off requests, one to one meetings, check-ins and goals, &amp; growth opportunities.</li> <li>Manage a team of data scientists to implement new features and address defects, 2-4 direct reports are optimal for this position.</li> <li>Help identify and address staff training needs.</li> <li>Work with senior management and HR to recruit new staff.</li> <li>Ensure procedures are followed by staff members.</li> </ul> QUALIFICATIONS <ul> <li>At least 9 years of experience in data science roles is required with at least 3 years of senior role experience included.</li> <li>Strong academic background (PhD program in a technical field) is an adequate substitute for a few years of industry experience.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of Data Science techniques and methodologies, and proven experience leading projects applying these methodologies.</li> <li>Extensive experience developing data science solutions in at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, or C++.</li> <li>Comprehensive Machine Learning (ML) background and expertise in at least one application area such as NLP, Computer Vision, or Generative AI.</li> <li>Proven track record of developing and deploying ML models in industry.</li> <li>Substantial experience with Python-based frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to collaborate with product managers, engineering leads, and other stakeholders to advance data science projects.</li> <li>Led multiple projects to completion in a small team.</li> <li>Proven experience assisting or providing mentorship to junior and senior data scientists.</li> <li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.
