If youre passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you. </div>About the role As a Multiplayer Staff Software Engineer at Fortis, you’ll help us build an amazing Original IP  through all the development stages, from concept to launch. You will work closely with highly talented game designers, artists, and other engineers to design, implement, and launch a large-scale multiplayer experience and leave your mark on a game that will last for years. What you’ll achieve <ul> <li>Develop new game features from prototype to live operations</li> <li>Assist with development of a custom netcode solution for mobile real-time multiplayer gameplay</li> <li>Work across multiple game engineering disciplines to implement server-authoritative game features</li> <li>Develop and support CI/CD pipelines</li> <li>Observe the studio’s development guidelines and, in collaboration with other developers, help drive the project’s code style and architectural excellence</li> <li>Produce technical design documentation to educate stakeholders and fellow engineers about software design decisions and principles</li> <li>Instrument, profile, and analyze client code to identify and fix complex bugs and performance issues</li> <li>Collaborate with the Central Tech team when appropriate</li> <li>Triage and resolve high-impact issues that arise while working in a live environment</li> <li>Additional client engineering tasks as required</li> </ul> What you’ll need to be successful <ul> <li>7+ years of software engineering experience in the games industry</li> <li>Experience developing multiple mobile games with Unity</li> <li>Experience developing custom netcode for real-time server-authoritative multiplayer gameplay</li> <li>Experience developing games across various engineering disciplines (gameplay, progression, client, server, etc.)</li> <li>Experience developing C# server applications for real-time multiplayer games</li> <li>Ability to solicit and incorporate game feature feedback in a highly iterative process</li> <li>Ability to work on a cross-disciplinary game development team</li> <li>High-energy, hands-on individual with attention to detail and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment</li> <li>Strong understanding of game mechanics and design principles</li> <li>Fluent in English with interpersonal communication skills</li> </ul>  <div>Why join us There are many reasons to join us, but here are a few: <ul> <li>We strongly believe we are changing how games studios operate and at the core of what we do is making great games that create a connected community</li> <li> <div>Were not just about making Games Where You Belong.
