In other words, covering the education business and higher education, through a Forbes lens. The candidate should be able to pursue big scoops and to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where creativity and teamwork are highly valued. Responsibilities <ul> <li>Write thought-provoking timely well reported stories; articles should be a combination of scoops, deeply-reported investigations and contrarian/Forbesian takes on the world of education.</li> <li>Cover the world’s best and worst players and institutions in the education space</li> <li> Monitor day-to-day education news</li> <li>Be comfortable working with data, from both the government and private sources to discover new trends. </li> <li>Oversee annual top colleges list as well as come up with new lists on the education beat.</li> </ul> The ideal candidate <ul> <li>Has at least two years of experience covering business or education–and preferably, experience in both</li> <li>Shows previous success breaking news, covering big players &amp; writing thoughtful features and investigative pieces</li> <li>Is proficient in analyzing financial data and statistics</li> <li>Is well sourced</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree</li> </ul> The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 Forbes has estimated the compensation range set forth above in good faith.  The compensation range is what we believe we will offer, and ultimately pay, a successful candidate.  In determining this range, we consider the experience, level of education (if applicable to the role), knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be had by a successful candidate as well as the budget and the company’s pay rates, generally.
